Totally dominant against a bunch of bullying cloggers who came to kick us off the park and still they couldnt lay a glove on us
We controlled the middle of the park with ease, Turi superb again with their number 24 on a personal mission to get booked yet somehow avoiding it until he kicked out at Shelton.
Only complaint for me is we should have had 4. Geza missing a sitter and Morgan should have played through 1 of his 2 options at the end
Superb to limit them to absolutely nothing. A great 3 points and hope Cooky isnt badly hurt

What to say, better team for 90mins. Bristol were a typical Evans side, who just tried to kick seven bells out of us.
We played to the elements for a change, adapted to and made use of the wind which Bristol never did.
Good goal from Greeny after a lovely flick on from Cooky.
September and probably goal of the season from Turi (get him signed up). Just watched it again. What a strike.
Vernam looked more like Vernam today. Not there yet, but a lot better than he has been.
Finch as well looked more like the player we've been told he is.
Rodgers going off is a worry, hopefully it was just a tactical change. Cooky going off is a big worry, he looked very upset which suggests its the same knee as last time. At least he walked off the pitch though.
Turi my MoM, he was everywhere again on top of that goal. Can we please just get him signed up.

| I don't mind Roy Keane making £60,000 a week. I was making the same when I was playing. The only difference was I was printing my own - Mickey Thomas
The area you are trying to protect at corners is the goal - Chris Kamara

Let’s hope Cookies injury isn’t too bad . If rovers are the best team in this league then we’ve not got much to worry about

The team which played football won, which is good because cloggers should never prosper. They surely can't have had a good start to the season off the back of a long throw and nothing else? Really good defending and I have to say that bringing Pruti on for Rodgers worked perfectly. Not as much height, but dealt with the argy bargy very well. Just a shame that we didn't win by more goals.
I just feel sorry for the Gas fans. Imagine having to watch that clogging every week. Probably explains why so few of them made the drive up the A46! It's like Lincoln all over again...

Think Rodgers was carrying the assault by Purrington early on in the game. Think that was a broderline red card on its own. Cook very much more a worry, me thinks. UTM

A quality game. A red card and a dislocated finger to add to the drama. Centre stage though was Turi's quality finish. Vernam's best game this season. Now let's talk about the downsides. (tumbleweed). There wasn't any. Played the top of the table off team off the park. Were they rubbish or did we make them look rubbish?

Difficult to tell, they may have had an off day or we just out battled them, but they looked very poor to me.

Just a good, professional performance against a side who seemed intent on kicking 7 bells out of us. Never before has there been a side more destined to get a red card.
Good performances all round but Turi (yet again), Green, Vernam and Sweeney my picks. The latter two have been off it overall this season, so great to see them picking up some form. Finch also looked much better and Shelton gave us something different which we really needed in the middle today.
That Cook injury looks worrying, and it’ll leave us to one, very inexperienced option in a position he’s not used to playing.
The only negative on a good afternoon of football.

Really composed and professional outing from GTFC today against a horrible & constantly niggly Brizzol side. The GTFC defence was very much back to its frugal best. Everybody outstanding and Sweeney having his best game this season. Sweeney is a 'high variance' footballer. Sometimes it is going to look really bad. Today was a very good day. The midfield much more functional as a unit, for the entire game, than it has been over recent weeks. Turi is simply exceptional at this level and maybe at least one level up. The Turi goal was a thing of complete beauty - what a hit (although no Brizzol played engaged the ball). Green is superb in a completely different way. Vernam was back to something like and Finch was a solid 6.5/10 (I do find myself hoping for Amaluzor back on the bench soon). And Cook, please stop with the Cook questioning, was a constant thorn in the Bristol Rovers back line when Town had the ball.......and when they didn't. We appear not to function as a team without a big, mobile, target man upfront. Please, please, please let Cook not be too badly injured. He looked quite upset when he went off. We need a Andrews and a Gardener fit ASAP. Morgan and Cartwright are very good footballers. Lots to learn, but when they do - watch them (and us) fly. This team could be really quite good at this level this season.
Great job Town. UTMM
