Putting a player’s name into Volare or Sloop John B isn’t a player “having their own song”. I’d say Cook’s is fairly original. The one chronicling Neil Woods’s dockside Winter exercise regime would be another.

Back in my ST days, I totally failed to get my:  "O Sol-e Camp-bell, in shirt 23" song going.  Well gutted.

I disagree with you though, putting a players name into a famous song does count.  Our "Oh, Santi Cazorla" to that 7 Nation Army or whatever started a trend {cf Jezza Corbyn} and was a nice easy chant for one of  my fave ever players.

Same window we signed him we got Olly Giroud.   We Na-na-nahed him to Hey Jude.  He loved it.  In a L'Equippe interview about how his first half season had gone he was saying "Man, can you believe they use the Beatles to sing my name?"

He was sort of saying it was an unexpected bonus of joining a PL club.  That they can use the Beatles etc for your song.  If he'd joined Barca it would have been Julio Eglazias or whoever.

Who's had a Sloop John B song, btw?

That makes me proud.  In the same way Giroud was proud of his Hey Jude song {imagine I knew how to do those pointing emojis you used and there were 5 up ones here} I'm well proud that you by a Gooner and give him that Paddy V chant.

He's got to get you promoted at the least in his first full season.  Mate, coming back from 2-0 is great, blowing a 2-0 lead happens {most dangerous scoreline and all that but at least you got 2-up} and a 2-2 ding dong after conceding first is better than losing.

But one of those 2-2s into a win and your 7th.  2 and you're 2nd.

I guess you're still on for an Invincibles {and we had a lorra lorra draws that season} but dear God I'd like to see you knock up a few wins in a row.

Omar Bogle's is probably the only genuinely original song that springs to mind ...most others are reworkings/ adoptions of existing tunes....
The potential for a Beck -Loser into a Amaluzor reworking hasnt been taken up as that could have been another tick in the box.
