Living room after watching on tele

Firstly Second half support from the fans was superb.

First half as bad as we’ve been since Bristol Rovers in February. Young players looked lost, Experianced players didnt help them, with Vernam in particular having a really poor half to go with a slow start to the season for him and no surprise to see him hooked at HT.

Second half Exactly the start we needed, thought our 2 half time subs really changed the game, Cook up top a real handful for their cbs and shelton controlled the game in the middle alongside Turi- lovely finish for his goal too.

The 2 full backs got further forward, Sweeney having a much improved 2nd half, we missed a few good chances but our trusty near post Greeny header got us a deserved point based on the second half.

Young Cartwright did very well, looked confident and tricky, and the keeper claimed crosses well when he was called upon.

Unbeaten start or only won 1 of 5? Would be great to get a win over Bristol and Thin Evans. Owe them 1 after last season

Ps- Steve Cotterill once a nob ALWAYS a nob

Next week, got to be:

                          Cartwright

Rodgers    Kacurri   McJannet    Sweeney

                                Turi

Cartwright     Shelton     Green    Morgan

                               Cook

That second half performance was a tantalising glimpse of what we're capable of with the right line up

So pedestrian in the 1st half.  As Hagrid points out, too much youth on the pitch to start?
2nd half, the subs completely change the game.  We play the game five yards further up the pitch and we probably win that game more often than not.  At least two efforts cleared off the line.  Cartright looks the part and does everything right to score, only for another deflection to take the ball wide.
Need one of Andrews or Gardener fit to help Cook out.

If it hadn't been for two desperate blocks we'd have won the game with that second half turnaround.
Lessons? Need to get the mix between youth and experience right.
Cook has to play and if he doesn't and Andrews, Gardiner aren't fit we're snookered.
Shelton also a must for a starting role and Sweeney needs to wear longer studs, kept losing his footing in dangerous situations.

Yep looked like relegation fodder first half then played like a very, very, good league 2 team in the second.

Made a massive difference having Cook on to create space for others. He held the ball up well and got some nice flick ons.

Early to tell just just how important they will be but some of the new lads definitely look they have real quality. Turi and Shelton absolutely dominating the midfield after half time.

I thought Cheltenham were pretty decent. Good technical footballers. Saying that we have got to stop giving away so many chances from poor decisions. Got away with a couple on top of the howlers for their goals.

Overall decent point and I suppose a reasonable start. Definitely need a win soon though.

Like i said after the Accrington points make prizes and after dropping 2 there I feel that was 1 gained today . Great second half after the worst of the season 1st and memories of Barnet away .

The keeper looked ok to me so thats a positive in the short term . Thought Shelton looked the 2nd best midfielder we have on the ball so probably looks viable to play left of a three . Turi did well again . That second half team is probably about as strong as we can be on current form as Vernam looks way off of it to me - is he carrying an injury or lacking confidence ?

The kid from Boro looks promising aswell .

I'm looking at the top 3 already and it's tight , 2 points behind third isn't much to catch up and 5 unbeaten to me is a solid yet unspectacular start especially as having more continuity of first team I thought would give us a chance of a big start but it hasn't transpired as of yet with this keeper issue being an ongoing saga that probably hasn't helped .

I suppose time will tell whether we are genuine top 3 material I want to see more like that second half and I might believe , but as it stands i see more of the same as last season , hopefully I'm wrong on that and we batter Bristol R with slim Steve next week.

Hopefully Artell acknowledges that he just got it wrong in the first half whereas the second half we looked like an exciting play off/promotion team.

Proverbial game of two halves . Time to accept young players from two leagues below can’t be expected to slot straight in particularly when you are pitching in 2 or 3 at same time . Still feel we have a good enough first 11 particularly now Shelton will hopefully start and Cook has only one game a week to cope with  . Vernam needs a serious talking to as he is doing what he has done for much of his career underachieving

Also glad to see we aren't entertaining those rubbish short corner routines anymore.
