I can’t see trumps lap dog, infantino, being able to stay in his job for much longer. There seems to be a bias towards certain country’s

Whether there’s an actual bias or not, because of Trump’s intervention, everything, from disallowed Egyptian goals, to Michael Olise’s soft yellow card, to the choice of officials for the France-Morocco game, is now viewed through the prism of “ahhh, there go FIFA again, fixing it for their favourites…”

He shouldn’t have any credibility left, not that he never had any to begin with, plus he just doesn’t care.

His position was untenable, the exact moment he publicly sucked off DJT, live in front of millions of people.

His position ought to be untenable but I was reading an article that analyses how the fifa delegates votes are calculated that concluded he’s untouchable due to the loyalty of certain blocs (which has been bought with for example the extension of World Cup finals qualification). Can you see Curacao or Ivory Coast voting against him as long as they get an invite to the party? There apparently a lot of bought and paid for loyalty except in Europe that makes his position impregnable. Don’t get me wrong I’ve enjoyed the plucky underdog moments of the tournament and some of them have undoubtedly deserved their successes but the trade off is that Infantino can do what he wants and upset who he likes as long as he’s got sufficient votes on the fifa council and he can’t be got rid of.

Just about to say basically the same, he knows how to look after a lot of small countries, hence he gets the votes required and doesn’t need the big boys. I do think there seems to be some sort of underhand advantage been given to Argentina though, and the European FA’s seem to be scared of him, Belgium having to play against a “ suspended” player to our FA being very quite regarding the Quansa 2 game suspension.

Whatever else he has done, Infantino has brought in lots and lots of money which will be distributed around between the Confederations, so I suspect he'll not be going anywhere after the tournament.

The taking advantage of the one member one vote thing has been the case since João Havelange in the 70s hasn't it?

Is it taking advantage though? How should the voting system be arranged? By population? China and India would welcome that I'm sure? By revenue? The English FA would jump at that. Not having a go I just question whether changing the voting system would have any impact on the level of corruption.

Oh no, it's a good question and I've no idea how else they'd do it, it's playing the system as it is! (and guessing will be for some time)
