Not sure marching into April will be enough. We may need to waltz!

11 or 12 points would probably be enough to mean we need 9 or 10 more from the final 6 games - we made a right balls up of the last 6 last season which meant we didnt get over the line but I would be much more confident in the same scenario this time .

Major, major difference this season is squad depth. What's genuinely noticeable at the minute is that it's incredibly difficult to guess what our starting line-up will be - other than Smith, Rodgers and McJannet, and to a slightly lesser extent Vernam (whose fitness will need managing), virtually every other position on the pitch is interchangeable between at least two or three players, without a noticeable drop in ability. Up top last season we had games without an available striker, whereas now we've got the choice of Cook, Kabia, JSB along with Gardner close to a return, whilst our midfielders haven't had to spend virtually every minute of every game running themselves into the ground covering every blade of grass. Rose became dispensable, McEachran starting or not no longer a fundamental decider of a game's outcome. We're night and day. Big game tomorrow though, not only because of the obvious points swing, because we then go into a game against a giant Bromley side on Saturday who haven't lost a single game in November and who will surely relish playing their super-direct game on our cabbage patch pitch - a surface John Beck would have loved.

Spot on about the squad depth and flexibility. It keeps the opposition virtually in the dark about exactly what line-up we start with and loads of permutations if we need to tweak it during the game.

Pitch could be a big factor. We have the advantage of familiarity with playing conditions.

The pitch will almost certainly work one way or another. It's been a lot drier of late and you'd expect that to be the prevailing pattern moving forward - will be interesting to see how it settles down (or becomes bobbly as hell).

You obviously don't live here! We had over 30mm of rain Friday & Saturday - even die hard golf courses that never close were shut.

He wouldn’t be able to let the grass overgrow in the corner areas on our pitch, but I suppose the mud would slow the ball down in that area anyhow!!
