7 league and cup starts. 0 goals. 7 wins. How mad is that?

Combative, decent touch, competes well in the air, can bring others in. It's a bit of a thankless role but he put in another 7/10 performance. Can't wait for the kid to bag one and see how that lifts him. Keep going lad!

I don’t think he’s our best striker but I think we’re better team when he plays.

Tough role today in a tight game. In fairness Jude did his bit and meant we could rest Kabia n Cook 👍

Looks less like a boy each time we see him, goals now
and he'll be cooking - I think the club will exercise the contract option

Looked like he's filled out a bit. Still needs to be stronger and a little meaner, but he's got real potential.

For both him and Kabia, they both really look like they would benefit from a partner.

Did he get a chance to play alongside Cook, and if so, how did it go?
Imho he will be a more effective team player & partner for Cook than Kabia. Just needs to get that first goal....

Every week, we have posts about 4-4-2 and it just isn't happening unless we really need a goal at the end. We don't give up the body in midfield / defence and sacrifice control of the ball. We have to accept it won't become part of the way we play. Not many teams play 4-4-2 any more. We play well if we get better support to our forward, and midfielders chip in and contribute with goals. Vernam and Green have done very well in that regard.

Anyway, I'll be back next week for more "we should play x alongside..." posts.

We won today, against a good team. What we did worked. In DA we trust.

Glad to see JSB back!

DA set up a low block yesterday in effect which means that you need a more mobile front player than Cooky to press their defence. JSB did a great job - it’s not always about your front player scoring as long as someone does.

Football is a 16 player game now and the team you start with is very different to the one you end with. Not conceding first is important but you get more goals in the second half than the first so need to look across the whole 90. Artell wants as many options as he can on the bench to the extent that we don't have a keeper often due to it being an edge case.

I feel it, when I sorrow most;
'Tis better to have loved and lost
Than never to have loved at all.

This is what DA was talking about in his interview when he said this was not the type of game for Cooky to start even though he had scored in the last couple of games, he brought him on when Notts went down to 10 as it worked to our advantage to use him. JSB played his part in a great team performance and is obviously our lucky omen when he starts. As a team we played much better football on their pitch as it is so much better than ours but we can’t change that so onwards and upwards. UTM

Dead Eye Dobbin stood motionless waiting, waiting, waiting for the ball to arrive. Back came the right foot, Down came the right foot, Bang ! Headlines around the world as the ball flew into the very top right hand corner of the goal.( Jim Dobbin scoring in the 89th minute for Town against Newcastle United away 24/10/1992 )
