Whoa there, you can't go saying that on here, the low T beta soy boys will be frothing at the mouth whilst shuffling their collection of flags to get the Iranian one to wave furiously in your face whilst crying facist, racist whaa whaa.

Despite the fact that since 2022, 20 Iranian-backed plots putting the lives of British citizens or UK residents at risk had been foiled, and that the number of state-level investigations run by MI5 had jumped by 48% in the past year.

Breaking news ding dong the Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of Iran, is dead. Justice for the 40,000 to 50,000 people he just had killed over the last few weeks.

There is going to be some serious queefing over this by the far left.

No doubt there will be a spike in the price of a barrel of oil but just like when global benchmark for oil, hit a five-month high of $81.40 at one point after the US bombed nuclear sites in Iran. But what you are missing out is not long after there was a ceasefire and that helped the price to fall back to about $69 a barrel.

Short economic pain for a getting rid of a terrorist regime to stop operations in the UK, Israel and in Iran.

It would seem that the Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran's Supreme Leader, is misunderstood by the far left who often overlook the complexities of his ideology, which blends rigid anti-Western sentiment with strategic pragmatism and a deep commitment to Shiite political theology. His actions are driven by a "politics of martyrdom" that prioritizes ideological, existential resistance over conventional, compromise-oriented diplomacy.

One Iranian was heard celebrating the dirty wizard is dead.

Oh look. More regime change.

All the war mongerers frothing at the mouth at taking out more "horrible leaders", but very quiet at the lack of action against Saudi, Israel, Turkey. Hey, the Trump fans even quiet on his lack of action against Russia. It's like it's not about bad leaders, but economically beneficial strategies for the USA.

Let's not package this up as rational debate, it's cheerleading while civilians will keep suffering regardless.

As with Venezuela, the only group with a chance of taking control of the county is the remnants of the existing regime, i.e. the IRGC. The chief clerics and many of the senior military figures may be gone, but there are plenty more of both waiting in the wings to replace them and very little is likely to improve for the populace, unfortunately.

The threat of Iranian ballistic missile attacks in neighbouring counties will obviously be all but gone for the interim, but I'd imagine the continuation regime will step up their support for groups across the region such as Hezbollah, Hamas and the Houthis, though less noisily so. Whether or not they will be able to do enough to disrupt the flow of oil/shipping in the Strait of Hormuz or the Red Sea is the question, I suppose. Aerial drones don't seem to have caused too much of a problem yet, but I wonder if underwater drones may prove to be the bigger problem. Ukraine has shown that these can be effective and you'd imagine that Iran will have been trying to develop similar.

That's the problem with trying to overthrow these long-established regimes. They've been in power long enough to completely consolidate their position and it doesn't give any sort of an opposition a chance to get organised. The West has been tentatively touting the son of the Shah as a potential leader, FFS! Bear in mind that the revolution came about because the Shah's regime was corrupt as intercourse and the country was basically being run for the benefit of the British and US oil companies.

I don't think we'll see the same sort of a excrement show where the country collapses into civil war as we've seem in Iraq and Libya because Iran is a bit different. It isn't disparate ethnic and religious groupings chucked together into a region and called a country. It is basically Persia with thousands of years of history. But it is only going to be the IRGC running the country, even if they ultimately pretend they are somebody different.

Trump (or more precisely, his regime) won't care, of course.

Every Republican president cuts taxes of the rich, cut living standards of the poor, and starts a regime change war in the Midfle East when their poll numbers inevitably start to tank.

Rinse and repeat.

Trumps sons new drone making business will be flooded with orders soon.

Which son? The useless one or the even more useless one? Is either is involved in drone manufacture, the products will be excrement, just like everything else associated with the Trump brand. Actually, is one of them involved with Anduril? Another one of Thiel's projects whose products don't actually work very well, but will get the goverment orders because the tech bro oligarchy is right on board with the regime now. The odious Vance is Thiel's man and is ultimately going to do what he is bloody well told when Trump departs before too long (he's disintegrating both physically and mentally in real time now).

Trump himself is mostly a distraction at this point. In the background, you've got the Project 2025 gang frantically dismantling the US state, destroying the healthcare system, gutting aid and scientific research, using the Dept of Justice to push overtly political prosecutions and, notably, setting up a faceless paramilitary group which ignores US law, regardless of rulings of the courts at any level. The lies about crooked elections (claims which have been investigated and dismissed on multiple occasions already) show where they are heading, especially with the "SAVE" act, which is basically just trying to disenfranchise anybody who they don't think will vote for them - including women! Real Handmaid's Tale bullshit which is going on in real time right now. Oh, pushing the narrative that every poll showing Trumps tanking popularity is fake, accusing (slightly) less friendly news sources to be 'fake news', having their billionaire chums buy up and then neuter the news channels and newspapers, etc etc.

At the very, very least, there will be heavy election interference during their midterm elections later this year. They will definitely have their masked goons loitering around polling stations in areas where the Democrats are likely to do well (i.e. most of them), to deter as many brown people from voting as possible and it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if they went all in on ballot stuffing. Remember, part of the fascist playbook - accuse your enemies of the things which you are doing yourself.

It's amazing to see just how supine the US Congress has been. They've spent years packing the courts and installing their lapdog Congressmen/Senators through vast political spending so I probably shouldn't be surprised that they are all happy to kiss Trump's bottom in such a humiliating manner. Bought and paid for or simply gutless.

Just amazing what they have been able to get away with so quickly. 1984 looks ever more prescient every day that passes right now.
