Abuse of officials is a problem at all levels of the game. You only have to read the stories about gobby parents showing up in their training jackets to shout at child referees. Football needs to change its culture and be more like Rugby in showing more respect to officials. The League SHOULD be coming down like a ton of bricks on abusive managers and players.

Agree. But there's no interest in changing this culture. Controversy and antagonism generates £, clicks, viewing figures and column inches.

I'm always bemused by any manager who stands in their 'technical area' windmilling their arms and trying to tell their players where to go and what to do. Surely that's what the training field is for? I think that the managers who sit up in the stand for the first half so they can get a better view of what is going on have the right idea. Especially with all the technology these days where they can easily communicate with their bench in real time.
