Seems about right, although I'd argue that the whole thing has perhaps been devised to enrage Leeds fans...

Out of the top ten clubs there are only Arsenal and Aston Villa that I have not seen town win.  ;

And there ends any remote credibility held by the article.

What an utter crock of excrement.

So keep splitting Lincolnshire up until we are the biggest in our county
We're safe for a while in NE Lincs

Then beat WSM, pray that we beat Pompey and then Ganpati willing we can get drawn together in R4.

We're playing twice every week until then - 2 LC SFs, 2 CL games - and have an away NLD afterwards {assuming we don't have a CL knockout qualifier}.  So I'd imagine Arteta would rotate the intercourse out of our team if we get drawn against each other.

When we played Port Vale in LC R3, I went to their forum's matchday thread after we'd won, while I was waiting to see if we'd get drawn against you - you'd won the night before.  I didn't post anything but just scrolled through their posts.

At the start they were all moaning that we'd disrespect PV by playing a weakened side, unlike when we played them in the FA Cup with our full strength double winning team in '98 and we only just beat them on pens in the replay at theirs.

Yet when the teams were announced the posts were like "Just spoken to some Arsenal fans outside the ground.  They say they'd be happy with that starting XI in a CL knockout match.  So they are showing us respect.  That's good."

I was thinking "You're mad.  If we played all the kids, you'd have a much better chance."

I guess in their heads, they thought "Well, we lost at home 2-0, but so did Bilbao to them the week before with a similar team, so that makes Port Vale as good as a Spanish CL club."  But if I were them, I'd have wanted us to play our teenage CHs etc.

All I'm saying is we'll be knackered come R4 and have an NLD coming up, so that could be your best chance against us in yonks.

If we can win the other 3, I'd quite like to see Town beat us.  If you got promoted, beat ManU leading eventually to their manager being sacked and were the only team to deny us victory in a competition, that would be a great season for you lot, no?

Though after Villa costing us the title 2 years ago {and beating us last month} I'd love you to knock them out of the cup.  Then we could meet in R5 and you could then have a chance of having seen Town beat all the "top 10."

I remember going to Highbury with great hopes some years ago... then Edu scored after about 2 minutes and that was us cooked. Only lost by a couple, I think, though it was a good while ago now.

Providing we beat WSM, I just hope we get a 'big' away draw to get some money into the coffers. Any of the big new stadia would do - Arsenal, Spurs, Man City, Everton. Failing that, I haven't been to Old Trafford or Villa Park. Anfield is so passe. Been there a couple of times, though I've only seen us win once there.

I don't remember that game, would have been when I was travelling.  Had a look at the report.  2-0.  Wiltord scored the 2nd.  Apparently a great last ditch tackle from Keown stopped you equalising.

We'd beaten ManU 3-1 the game before and did the double that year, so not too shabby a performance by Town.  And apparently 25% of the fans were Mariners so there must have been a decent atmosphere in your part of the Clock End.

Will have to have a look for the highlights.

You haven't played us at our new place, have you?  So if we both win R3 and then you get drawn at ours in R4, you'd get a serious payday - I think we still just about have the highest matchday revenue, and cos FA Cup is included, you'd get 40% of the Club Level, Platinum Club and Exec boxes money which is quite a lot.  And you'd get to see Town at our new gaff.

I really enjoyed it when Cardiff took 7k fans and had a huge chunk of the Clock End lower.  They were in fine voice, singing Lets all have a disco when we scored the 4th after 80-odd minutes.

So R4 would be good.  As I say, we'll be knackered.  And R5 is between an away trip to BHA and the first CL knockout {assuming we avoid the qualifiers.}

Let's hope your cup run this year is even better than '36 - either by beating us and/or winning the SF.
