Bit surprised that nobody has commented on the outstanding start made by the youth team this season.

They sit top of the 21 team EFL youth Alliance North, undefeated after 10 games, having conceded only 9 goals, and are 7 points clear of Blackpool & Preston.

https://www.worldfootball.net/schedule/eng-u18-h-youth-alliance-2025-2026-north-spieltag/4/

They began their FA Youth Cup campaign on Friday night, thrashing Loughborough Students 6-1 with a Harvey Booth hat trick

couple of names you might recognise are
Hayden Rogers, the highly rated keeper who played in the Boston friendly.
Fortune Onoh, who has already played a couple of first team games
tenacious little Charlie Hatton, who was in last year's youth team and has played for the reserves.
Elliott Smith is a forward who also played in the Boston friendly, and has been in a couple of first team squads.

In addition they were missing 2 of their best players in Alex Graham & Carlo Midwinter

I think the FA Youth cup game is the only one the club have given a full report on this season, so they are flying a bit under the radar compared to previous years.

I did see their excellent record in the programme recently.  Continuing the success of previous teams.

Perhaps they still do it and it's just escaping me, but previously highlights of all youth games were put out by the club.   Seems a shame there's not a bigger push on the great work that's happening with the exception of when it's a cup game.

Totally agree with the above. I have also made several attempts to get the women’s league table on the GTFC site, or at least to say in the reports where they are placed. There is so much good coming out of the club and it would be a small thing to get such matters right.

There really is little / no excuse for it now. My local grass roots Under 14s side has one of these Veo cameras which i think are unmanned and they detect the ball / key incidents to atleast provide some highlights

This would be great for the womens and under 18s sides as a minimum!

I remember the role of Communications manager being advertised in August. Does anybody know if it was filled and if the person has an email?

I wonder are these lads locals, from around the country or a bit of a mix?

It's a mix, like it normally is, though there is a decent number of the current u18s (2nd years) that went through our Academy system, including lads like Hayden Rogers, Charlie Carrick, Charlie Hatton, Corey Foster and Elliott Smith who all started with the Academy when they were 8 years old.

I think the current 1st year YT's are mostly lads drafted in from other clubs in the summer with a few that joined our academy in the last couple of years.
