I hope none were on the 18:25 Doncaster to King’s Cross train last night it may have been a bit early for them but they certainly would be on the following trains that would have had hours of delays. A terrible end to their F.A. cup dream. Hoping you all got home safely

Fortunate for Ebsfleet fans to have avoided the train with the stabbings.
Presumably they would not have known until they got home…..

Wouldn't have made Doncaster until at least 1840 but they were in my thoughts as soon as I'd seen the news but without knowing at the time the train had left Doncaster.

I regularly use that route to get home on a Saturday night, but the Cleethorpes train does not get to Doncaster until about 6.40.

I would then usually get the 6.54 train to London King's Cross, about 30 minutes after the train with the stabbings.

This shows that being in the wrong place at the wrong time can be devastating. It's hard to imagine how I would have felt if I had been on that train.

My thoughts are with the injured. I hope they fully recover.

I don’t often use the train for home games and get off at Grantham anyway, but I use East Coast loads for London. You play the how you’d fight scenario in your head, but don’t know you’d react, clearly there was a very brave man who fought the attacker, and the train driver, a military veteran, kept his cool and followed his training. He and Emergency services did a great job - 8 mins from call to taser.

I hope all the people on the train make a full recovery.

The ones who were stabbed recovering from their wounds is only half of their recovery getting over the shock and horror will be a longer process.

My thoughts go out to all concerned .

Putting all rivalries to one side let’s hope the Scunthorpe united player injured on the train has a speedy recovery and the injuries both physical and mentally are not career ending

Sheet, I didn't know there was a Scunny player injured.  Wishing him and all the others a quick and perfect recovery.  We had a CH, Pablo Mari, stabbed in a supermarket on loan in Italy in2022.

Nor did I realise that some of you would use that line at times.

When I was a kid in the '80s, everyone was always shocked if they went to France cos da yoof there carried knives when we didn't.  How times have changed.
