Having a quick look at L1 retained lists. A few names that caught the eye, based on nothing more than reputation rather than what I know of their footballing ability, I'm linking that reputation in this game often transfers to ability though I appreciate this isn't always reflective and can change over time:

Josh Benson - Barnsley (Liked him on loan and surely have developed more since)

Shocking injury record last two years, less than 20 games.  Started really well there but just can't get fit it seems.

Real shame as he looked a proper player when on loan here, even if it did take Simeon Jackson's assault on Jake Hessenthaler to give him a fair crack in the side.

Braintree forward kyrell lisbie has had a great for braintree and certainly seems like a player that has the potential to improve.

Matthew Dennis  is someone that’s on a free (not sure because of age). Played 16 times and scored 6 times in a pretty useless Carlisle side last season.

No info at all. Just the fact that my youngest has had me up for 3 hours and am feeling very sleep deprived

Findus: if the footballs Sh1t you can always watch the ships

Main stand: if the footballs Sh1t you can always abuse the manager

I've had my tin foil hat on chaps and done a deep dive on the 'tractor watch' teaser the club has shown us the last 2 pre-seasons for you all.  They wanted us to think it was a literal 'tractor watch' of the tractor on Blundell park, however that was obviously a smokescreen in classic Artell-style to throw off the competition..

I've narrowed down the options for the real tractor watch to 2 possibilities:

1. Town have been scouting Tractor SC, an Iranian football club in East Azerbaijan, for several years and have sent Dave Moore in rambo-style  to 'rescue' their 1 million euro rated keeper Alireza Beiranvand (he's not really retired, its just a cover story)

2. The 'tractor' being watched is a codename, based on the tractor brand Massey-Ferguson, and actually relates to a bid for wing/forward Gavin MASSEY of AFC Fylde

All we need to do is wait for a picture of Artell on his 'summer holiday' to surface, showing either the A585 or a road sign in Azer in the background and we will have the answer.......

Something's going on at town now. Just driven down Harrington Street and cars and people gathered at the main stand/players entrance. Hope it's some early transfer dealings?

People helping Dave Moore clear out his office. He's been there so long he's accumulated quite a lot of stuff.

I went to renew my tickets today and peaked through the gates when I heard some shouting, was just a kids game. Probably a school final or something.

This is based on no Intel at all just that Artell has worked with him in the past (the absolute decision point for any Fishy suggestion).  Harry McKirdy.

3,000 pairs of shorts apparently....

'I walked in the dressing room. The window was open and I thought that a sea fret had got in. Then I saw smoke billowing from a pipe in the corner of the room...it was my centre-forward. He looked seven stone wet through. He went on to score thirty-odd goals that season.' Lawrie McMenemy on encountering the legend that was Matt Tees.

Echo the thoughts of others that I think we need a midfielder that knows this league inside out. Ala Richie Smallwood / Antoni Sarcevic have been absolutely pivotal. It's within our business model to sign young upcoming talents but I don't think DA is stupid enough to ignore the fact that could be the difference between getting us over the line next year. I'm ready for a few weeks rest and ready to be filled up with optimism come August again.
