We've played several teams this season with a 'nasty, snarling, in the refs face' type of player including Cameron(?) at Barrow and I always thought we suffered in those games, partly because of them.

I don't particularly like the type, and not sure if DA does either, but there must be an arguement for having one in the side. As always,  this season has shown Town are too nice! We've accepted dodgy decisions from referees with little more than a shrug of the shoulders. We all know that arguing the toss with refs doesn't change their minds but a bit more chirping in their ear might just tip some decisions our way!

We were too nice under Hurst but thats not the case under Artell at all, he moans at least as much as everyone else apart from Cowley and Danny rose is no shrinking violet at conning the ref either, other teams fans hate him.

I'm old and ugly enough to know that red crosses mean SFA on these pages and am not bothered by them,  but I really can't understand 9 (at time of writing) on this post. Every other team has that serial niggler, sometimes more than one, whose constantly chirping away at the referee and getting in the head of opponents but obviously you all want us to continue to be nice, uncomplaining Grimsby!! 👍 🙄

I always thought “professional” meant named in the starting 11 of first team games a number of times (5?) but I’m quite happy to admit I could be wrong on that.

Yeah it's something like you can make an emergency loan unless you've got a keeper available with 5 pro appearances. Auton has 1 when he came on for eastwoods injury. So he could be on the bench and cover for any such situation again but if it happens we'd be able to get an emergency loan for the following match (unless our 1st keeper was back fit again). Don't know if it effects your loans tho, i assume it doesn't count as 1.

Anyway not saying we would do that but it is an option and tbh it seems an efficient way of doing it so long as you get a proper good keeper in as first choice. No taking chances on inexperienced ones like Eastwood, cartwright, wright etc as if they are no good or have a real dodgy spell your stuck playing them.

.Money is needed as a main priority to buy in a quality keeper who can command the full area and give confidence to the back 4 (5).

I think we can deduce from that that he called him a “woman-beating cúnt”, or words to that effect. Good on him. Nasty piece of work, Ferguson.
