With the benefit of a night’s sleep, I don’t think there’s many who expected us to win yesterday. The only shock was that we have a performance like that still in our locker. I thought those days were gone.
I have enjoyed this season, regardless. I have to agree that i think the last few games are beyond us. We look burnt out. Small squad with a ridiculous amount of injuries will do that. There’s a lot to admire still. And as I said previously, I’d much rather they fall short at BP, than at a very expensive day out in West London.
We will be a much better prospect for potential signings on the back of this season. I will pick my new season ticket up..,,

I did. After Harrogate I felt like smashing someone’s head in and expected the players felt the same, so for them to put THAT display in yesterday was quite literally unbelievable from my perspective. Biggest league game in 20 years and we got battered 4-0 at home. Absolutely lost for words.

I know you did. I admired your optimism but I’ve always felt that this one was scripted in advance.

Bizarrely I have enjoyed reading this thread despite feeling very angry yesterday. A few things I am truly baffled how the game kicks off and the home crowd are right up for the game and not really owt to do with Holloway they where steadfast behind team and manager. The team start with zero energy and after 15 mins Barrington should have been hooked head down shoulders slumped jogging around pathetically whilst is 31 year old striker was doing all the pressing. At 0-2 Rose calls a time out and what should have signalled plan B and Barrington subbed didn't.The subs eventually came and McEachran Hume Khouri all off enter Turi Ainley Vernam. The Manager saying we've lost this game with 30 mins left 0-3 half the crowd get up and leave including me and DA moans about it I mean really Dave? Please explain why I should stay when you've given the game up as a bad job? We have some good players we have some OK players and we have some poor players but today only JDS played anything like. Eastwood needs to play the last 3 games for me Wright is fried his heads gone.I don't see a player in Barrington personally and again he shouldn't be starting games but do we actually have anyone else fit enough to play? The home games collectively have been utterly depressing barring 3-4 matches and regardless of what league we're in this must change we can't lose 0-4 and simply shrug it off its not good enough. Now let's beat Vale and reset.UTM

Another wasted afternoon at Blundell Park - if that fella from Nazareth was resurrected over the weekend, can the Mariners?
Do you mean Dan McCafferty?

Bad day at the office. A lot of the teams that have an aggressive press have won here. Completely agree with everybody else’s comments about Wright and Barrington. Neither should be first choices in a competitive league2 team. Wiright needs a beak as he is a real weak link, when he’s in possession. It is such a relief when he gets rid of it. The substitutions really irritated me yesterday. A few weeks ago I was furious that fans left early after seeing the changes yesterday it looked to me like we had thrown in the towel. Add to this our bench is an embarrassment. I expect Eastwood to start at Port Vale and although I expect us to lose, I want to see a fight. We are better designed to be an away team where the Home team is expected to come onto you and this create some more space for us ,at home where the onus is on us to cut through the opposition we need to have a blinder to achieve this otherwise we just get smothered. I think this is why we have the occasional big home success when we can cut through a team but when we play the better teams at home, they snuff us out very easily.having. only one striker is not helpful. We are not out of it after yesterday‘s embarrassment it just feels like it Utm

We could’ve certainly done with a loan signing like tshimanga last summer. It’s hard to know where the recruitment begins this summer but I’d say that it’s a fine line between which is more important, attacking options or defence

I’ve been vocal about my support for Artell but his post match really irked me.
‘One bad performance’ - as if we haven’t seen that type of game multiple times at home this season. It was a carbon copy of other performances, I can’t fathom why he can’t seem to see that. Maybe he can but isn’t saying it, but in that case why has absolutely nothing changed in these types of games?
It’s not lost on me that this has been a great season, but the fact that the bad has looked EXACTLY the same all season is on the manager IMO.

Regarding Wright let's be honest he has never looked comfortable as the number 1 has he? He always looks like a rabbit in headlights, scared of his own shadow and technically leaves a lot to be desired. I think he is 26 and this is his first spell as number 1 and he hasn't adjusted to it at all. Rather than grasping the opportunity and taking charge of the defence he has wilted. He was taken out of the firing line earlier in the season and I'm surprised he has kept his place up to this point, but I would be very disappointed if he is number 1 next season. What looked a good signing on paper just hasn't worked out.

You could start with a prime Alan Shearer mate but if he gets zero service he's not going to score is he? Tshimanga had a good game but he was helped by having a very good target man alongside him We have Rose but nothing else.
