Here come chesterfield….
Bradford up next for them. Rather be us than them. You’re right though - Chesterfield beat them, and Vale rinse us and…..f***ing hell. Great to be part of this though. The suspense. The potential. The thrill. Looks like seven teams to contest three play off places I reckon.

Think two wins and a draw can still make it to playoffs

What a shite day all round. I had a feeling things were not going to go well when I saw the shapeshifting, populist grifters Richard Tice and Andrea Jenkyns campaigning as I walked into the ground. Pair of girl privates.
Then the game, they'd watched us and we'd not planned well to play them. We didn't adjust to the wind and failed to adjust to keeping it tight. Artell to sticks to his guns regardless of how it's going. Most of the time it goes well. When it doesn't like today, it explains why our goal difference is horrendous. We just keep playing the same way.
Then to top it off another embarrassing row in the upper. Again a player's family member with a total headloss after a little criticism of the player from a paying punter. Fairly regular occurrence up there.

Yes, first saw some archetypal scruffball handing out leaflets on the corner of Imperial Avenue before spotting the two main clowns of the circus across the road. Holloway probably paid them so he wasn't officially the biggest bel_lend at the ground today.
The only Reform we need is on the pitch. Couldn't JS have been out there today instead?

You can almost carry 2 or 3 players having a bad day but when the whole team plays crud what can you do. Hope it was just an off day and we can bounce back but what's happened to Davies, Luker and Warren. Are we saving them for Monday, or more injuries.
Think it's also time to give Eastwood a start on Monday as the team nor fans have confidence in Jordan ATM.
Much to do but no means out of it yet.

Pretty terrible all round that. Exposed several things but mainly that we have absolutely zero strength in depth and that our lack of pace/power kills us when teams work out how to stop us playing through the thirds.
We desperately need a new keeper next season. Eastwood shouldn't be here once his contract runs out as harsh as that is after suffering his injury. But I defy anybody to claim that Wright fills them with any sort of confidence. His kicking is abysmal and any scout worth their pay will flag to opposition teams that he's incredibly bad with his feet and takes an age to set himself to kick it. He is an average shot stopper at best and regularly pushes the ball back in to dangerous areas. And he's not remotely commanding with this beautifully summed up late in the game today when a shite free kick was knocked towards him with no pressure on him at all and he completely scuffed the punch. Not only was the punch itself very bad but if you're not capable of catching floated crosses in to your chest when not under pressure then you're not FL standard. Neither of our two keepers can be number 1 next season if we have plans to improve.
Outfield pretty much everyone was poor. Felt bad for Danny Rose feeding off total scraps and next to the ineffectual and cowardly Barrington. Barrington has some skill but he backs out of challenges even when the odds are in his favour. He's a boy playing a man's game and we need to make sure we get loan players actually capable of the rigours of L2 next season.
Still everything to play for but I fear the last two games will have knocked the stuffing and momentum out of us. On to Monday.

Dreadful performance. So bad that even Scunthorpe blowing the NLN title hasn't cheered me up.
No. 1 priority this summer should be signing a goalkeeper. Obviously I'm not blaming the current GK for today's defeat but it was a game that highlighted his many shortcomings.

It certainly didn't reflect well on Wright that they didn't try and press us when he had the ball at his feet from a goal kick and Smith was actually waving his teammates away telling them to let him kick it!
Today, his kicking was far from as bad as we have seen on occasion this season, but he rarely found a teammate or put his long kicks in the right area to give us a chance of winning the challenge.
He's under contract, but I'd hope Wright isn't the first choice for us next season. I'm still baffled that he was picked as the right option in the first place, given the possession-based style building from the back that Artell prefers.
We didn't have any compunction in clearing out our midfielders from last season whose skills weren't suitable for the style of play. To snooker yourself immediately by signing a keeper who will struggle to kick well enough is thoroughly odd.

Wright isn’t at the level needed. For his size he is ‘weak’, doesn’t command authority by his presence nor vocally. Hes so quiet.. the aforementioned problems with kicking/playing out. The continued punching rather than catching.. is that being coached/instructed?? The 2nd goal today was awful.. pretty weak header straight at him.. parries out right back into the danger area. Not for the first time. His rashness at flying out the area unnecessarily.. did it in first half again but got away with it. Yes he’s made a few cracking saves in the course of the season - but his errors far outweigh the positives. If we are to compete at the top end next season - and there will be pressure to do so - then the goalkeeper is just one area improvement needs to be seen. Wright or Eastwood aren’t good enough.

The Scunny certainly cheered me somewhat. I agree on GK - just too many times a lack of dominating the box as 6ft 5 unit.
