More drama in the last min and the VAR wait for Evertons 2nd equaliser than in many games.

Everton celebrating in front of the Liverpool fans resulted in fighting and 3 red cards.  Slot got a red for angry protesting.

Summed VAR up there. The VAR absolutely shíte himself knowing that disallowing it - as should’ve happened for the push - would’ve caused murder.

Elsewhere, the most ridiculous penalty award I've seen for a long while in the Club Brugge v Atalanta game - the Brugge striker dived while running behind the defender.

Really?

Only in the modern game the Pool defender needed to be stronger and in any case nobody gets more decisions than them it was long overdue justice.

Yeah, really.

The VAR bods shouldn’t be sat watching the game. They should remove as much context as possible - they shouldn’t know the scores, how long is left to play, anything that’s gone on before or after the incident. They should be looking at a blank screen, or playing Tetris, until they’re needed and then just given a raw video of the whatever incident they’re meant to be looking at.

The whole concept is fundamentally flawed & prone to bias - Mike Dean’s admitted as much the second he retired, saying he didn’t want to overrule his mate as it would undermine him. Not saying individual refs are biased against certain clubs, that’s a level of embarrassing delusion only prem fans suffer from, but we’ve all seen how referees sometimes ref the occasion rather than the incident.
