Obikwu in the starting 11, that an unusual one for me, considering the bench. No Thompson again and light on defence subs.

It all looks a bit down to bare bones.

Rubbish.

So if we lost to Morecambe, FGR, Wimbledon & Sutton and were bottom of the table at 5PM on 9th March we'd just carry on regardless?

Of course we won't. If results continue reality will catch up with Stockwood & Pettit re: Artell;s position,

I quite like Andrews. He's a youngster playing in a cr@p team but he hasn't hidden at any point during his time at Town. He always makes himself available and looks for the ball when other, experienced midfielders who are actually contracted to the club hide away and don't make themselves available for passes.

I saw a comment somewhere about Andrews pulling out of a 50/50 last week, It made me think, why would a loanee put his body on the line when his teammates who are contracted to the club are putting in zero effort and have waved the white flag?

3 predictions of losing 5 -1, 4 at losing 4 -1 and one for a 10 - 0 defeat. Recording them I thought no chance after last week's defeat. Looking at that team all of them stand a chance.

Not really sure there's much of interest in this Stockwood interview. He brushed off the question about what has gone wrong this season and said the time for an autopsy is at the end of the season.

Only point of interest mentioned amongst all the 'we need to pull together' chat was that there was apparently a 'clearing of the air amongst' staff and the players this week and said that just trying to play attacking football isn't going to get us out of this situation (has someone finally told Artell that it's not really acceptable to continually let 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 goals every game?)

Still seems to be backing Artell but refused to be drawn on whether Artell would still be here next season or how many games he has left to turn things around. Confirmed the rumours about injury / illness and a 'car accident' (apparently the town players were hit by another car and it wasn't their fault).

I think your statement is a massive contradiction.
He's a young player, he's not showing the desire to compete. He should do that because he wants a career in professional football. This isnt under 18 football, he needs to find his heart.

Feel a bit for Artell with those mitigating circumstances around todays lineup, let's be honest the last thing he needs is to lose Vernam and have some general sickness within the squad.

I guess they must have recalled Bramwell from his loan as cover, I would rather see him than Rogers or Maher to be honest.

Interesting points from Stockwood in the interview on recruitment during the summer  veering away from what was planned, I wonder if that backs up the point  some posters have made around Hurst not entirely supporting the new approach.

Those two involved in the car crash are unfortunate. The car managed to weave in and out of four or five cars containing Town players quite easily before the injured two managed to get anywhere close to it.

JT didn't an answer from JS when asked how long to turn the team around and gave DA today's game, FGR and Wimbledon. So that's 3 games gone and we will still be in trouble. As much as I like the owners their naivety of running a football business is showing through.

My usual optimism and positivity are being drained from me like blood.

Clifton and Holohan played through their press really well there. Morecambe massively overcommitted men out wide and left Rose unmarked on the edge of the six yard box for a tidy finish. That kind of play is the upside of Artell-ball when it works and the ball goes to someone who can actually finish.

That was a good move by Town.  Clifton showed a bit of his old energy to get that cross in. Their keeper didn't know what was happening.

Not entirely sure I agree with that - we've got away with a few poor clearances and bits of miscommunication between keeper and defence so far. Really think we need more goals because i'm not convinced we're lasing 90 minutes here without conceding.

Feel like sometimes our problems come from trying too hard to defend as strange as that sounds, always seem a bit stressed as soon as the opposition have got the ball and too many players rush over trying to put pressure on and leave gaps

If you take Andrews off you're either gonna have to stick Wood in there who looked very ropey in the game he started, or a kid with about 20 minutes of EFL football under his belt in Braithwaite (or change formation and go to 4 at the back which i'm not convinced is a great idea with the pressure we're under at the moment). I don't think there are any 'good' options here.

Because after 2 minutes we've barely troubled their keeper, looked ropey at the back, conceded another crap self inflicted goal to throw away 2pts and with scores as they currently stand we're at risk of going into next Saturday knowing that a loss could result in Forest Green either going above us, level on points or 1pt behind.

Inness sent off for Forest Green in 89th min.  2 yellows.  Will miss their game against us.  Hope that he is key for them.

No he won't, you only get suspended for 1 match for a second booking and they're playing Wrexham on Tuesday.

FGR are playing on Tuesday night. Could be a point behind us by then.

With FGR winning terrible result needed a win in big big trouble with them picking up wins. I smell relegation big time

I reserve the right to eat my words, but that team has somehow given me even less confidence of us getting a result. I hadn’t even considered that possible.

Naturally disappointed to throw away a lead but frankly relieved to land a draw against a team way higher than us in the table. A result to settle the jitters and the anger perhaps. Onwards.

Agree, this isn’t a great result when you put it into context that FGR have made up two points on us. They could be a point behind after their match on Tuesday night and we could be in the relegation zone by 5pm next Saturday.

Definately an improvement

I thought obikwu grew into the game think itll be good to give him another go up top
Start wood over andrews

Those posts are a disgrace.  We don't need this defeatist attitude in a relegation fight.

If FGR hadn’t won we’d have thought that was an ok result.

Personally I know we had selection limitations and the players tried hard but we never did enough to win the game.

Now we’ll need to listen to Artell reframing the truth & the reality that we’re getting relegated

Artell out!

Wood  made an impact when he came on Obikwu had a good game overall.  He started off all over the place but go settled and caused a few problems.  Unfortunate not to win that.   Should have had a pen and free kick on the edge of the box.  And Gav's sitter.

FGR have taken 7 points from their last 12 available whereas we've not won since 2023. Outside of that context a point away at Morecambe is fine, but it's not enough because based on our form compared to FGR's we're shortly going to find ourselves overtaken and in the relegation spots.

FGR are going to keep getting better and better with that gaffer .

We probably need 10-15 points .

Massive game next week , lose that and I fear we will be stuck below the dropline until season end .

I’d have taken a point before the game, but FGR winning gives me the jitters. Only a four point cushion now and that makes me nervous. FGR have some momentum and we are stuck in neutral.

Fifty points usually makes a ream safe. So 7 wins needed really.

Only listened but sounded like a decent performance, miles better than last week. Taken in isolation a draw away to a team much higher up is a good result. It's not results like today that could get us relegated, we simply have to improve at home.

That's a fine point, more than I expected when i saw the line up. 5 points from the last thee away games is also a very good indicator that we can grind out results away from home at least.

We really need to beat FGR next week. Really really.

We can go above Colchester with our game in hand, and still have them to play . It’s not just us and FG

They will be one point behind us if they beat us next week.

So it's more than a must win or six pointer.

We have got to win and we need everybody fit. and ready to go.

Plus a packed park to cheer us on.

Even if we win its going to be tight all the way to the end of season.

Come on town you mean so much to many of us.

Forest Green play Wrexham at home on Tuesday. If they win that and then win at town on Saturday, I fear mentally it'll be difficult for town to come back from, even if we do have games in hand.

They are 13/5 to beat wrexham and also 13/5 to get a draw.

Am hoping, the fact we still have a far better goal difference will work in our favour. Proving we don’t carry on losing by 4 or 5 goals

That is a very good point, better than I expected seeing the line up.

I think thats 5 points from the last three away games.

Next week against FGR is absolutely critical.

I fear we will do a Woods and draw our way to relegation. Chances like the Holohan one at the end simply have to end up in the net, and it's not the first time this season we have drawn a game away that we could and probably should have won. Again we give away a soft goal to add to the long list.

Also fear that FGR are starting to be a lot more resolute. Tranmere have been doing really well lately, but FGR saw them off. They also won away at Barrow, and now I am fearing them doing us over at our own place with about 50 fans in the away end.

Next week is everything. Worst case scenario they go above us. Best case we go 7 clear with 2 games in hand.

We simply have to win imo

One thing potentially in our favour is the fact there are still 14 games left. FGR are enjoying a decent spell, might overtake us, but can they continue in that vein for another 2 months?

We’ve not had a decent spell all season but threatened on and off to be capable of playing well. If we stick with this formation, get the likes of Thompson & Vernam in we might be able to put a bit of a run together. Especially just after Easter when we’ve got 4 or 5 games against teams who’ll have little to play for.

Colchester aren’t out of the woods just yet - that rearranged match might end up being THE match that does define the season.

We need to get a witch doctor on some of the chronics though.

I bet you're a hoot at parties. Was that his fault entirely? How about a defender preventing a cross coming in?

Only two teams get relegated so it's always lower than that in  league 2 .

Last 8  full seasons points required to survive (when points not deducted ) :
44 ,39,46,42,46,47,35 ,42
So a range of between 35 and 47 points have been required to survive .
Average points to survive - 42.6

I doubt it will be higher than 47 points , we are slowly running out of games . I still dont believe it will take that to survive
FGR would need play-off form numbers -1.6PPG to reach 47 points .
Sutton logically are almost dead they would have to pick up 2PPG to reach the 47 points (title winning form over a season )

We still have it in our own hands-  to reach 47 points we would only require 1.2PPG , it's much less a task numerically at least for us on paper with 1 and 2 games in hand on the bottom 2 .

We are currently averaging 0.940PPG which if linear would see us  finishing with 43 points

Colchester are still in the mix to , they have not got the bounce i expected from the Cowleys appointment .

No I'm not confident , but I do think the draws might save us if we continue on our trajectory of them  we are joint top on draws with Mansfield who are at the submit and we have not actually lost that many games - 14  (as many as 8th place Crawley ) it's that small amount of wins , 6 all season that's put us in this mess I think.
