To the car. Tough day today; wife said she’d leave me if I left her on her own with the kids in Leeds tonight. Ah well, I suppose it’s Orsi’s for divorces.

Well, what can I say. Never saw that coming.

What we lacked in skill levels compared to Luton, we more than made up for in grit, determination and endeavour.

Without playing particularly great football, we scored 3 great goals, with the icing on the cake being the third by Amos. I was thinking, don't have a shot from there, get a right footer on it and throw it into the box to see if we can get a head on it. What do I know.

Second half, Luton really went for it and brought on their better players, and we looked like we had entered the finals of the world giving the ball away championships. They just kept coming at us like Rourke's Drift and we just kept fending them off, time after time. No real scares to speak of and we easily ran down the clock.

Every player did their bit and it would be churlish to single anyone out.

An incredible team performance. Everyone put in a real shift and can be really proud of what they've achieved tonight. But a special mention for Orsi who was magnificent leading the line, he's a proper baller. Looks kind of lightweight but uses what strength he has really well.

I was almost more impressed with our second half performance than the first. Everyone stuck to their tasks and kept a very compact shape, Luton were limited to mostly half chances. Let's hope Green's okay and back ready for our mammoth league run-in.

Can't really say anything else other than this: these kind of nights make all the disappointments over the years worth it. The 5-0 at Braintree, the lost play-off finals, all of it. They all make this even more special.

Not really sure I can find anything else to say other that wow.

I felt that we deserved a win in the first game but thought our chance had probably gone. Christ on a bike I was wrong.

That first half performance was perfection. No other word to describe it. We were well worth our 3-0 and I think second half we still had a game plan and they put us under pressure but we still never really struggled.

A tad more composure from Morris May have seen us get a deserved 4th but we can’t grumble.

A great night at BP…

We took our chances to go 2-0 up and then the third, from the top of the Upper, was absolutely superb.

It was nice to sit back and watch the second half onslaught with a 3 goal cushion. Everyone was brilliant tonight.

Nice to see Essel get a little run out, he looked confident and got stuck in during his very brief cameo.

Echoes of the Plymouth game, on the front foot,  relentless and clinical.
Second half superb defensive performance.

I would agree but we we’re old division one back then, we’re fourth tier now, that’s an astonishing result tonight.

One of the best things about tonight was scoring all our goals at the Luton end, then defending that same end to keep them out.

They got a first hand view of our attack at it's best, then the defence.

Lovely.

They were half-arsed during the first half, we were really clinical. Good link up between Orsi and Clifton for the first, a role reversal for the second and a well-struck free-kick for the third.

Each of their substitutions increased their threat, but we were incredibly well-organised in the second half and they were mostly restricted to chances which weren't easy to convert. Mostly headers where they weren't really able to get any power or direction on the effort. Crocombe played well and made a few decent saves, but only one you wouldn't really expect him to get when he managed to block a point-blank header when the player was right in front of him.

What makes it more remarkable is that we had very little to shake it up from the bench. Orsi played well in the first half but was almost out on his feet not long after the hour mark. We only had an inexperienced kid to replace him and the injury to Green meant that we had to rejig the midfield and we looked weaker after that.

Injuries permitting, we'll hopefully have at least one or two other options on the bench for the Southampton game.

Can't believe it is more than half my life-time since we were last in the 5th round...

The defensive work was phenomenal! It was all done at arms length and we never really looked troubled. Luton could’ve played for a week and not scored

Orsi and Clifton seem to have struck up an understanding looking at those 2 Luton games.

Great team performance.  Individually and collectively we were just just too much for them.

Was going to post before the game that our record against higher-placed teams is outstanding.  Based on 2 top cups of the play-offs and the FA Cup.

We played the equivalent of 4 playoff matches.

We have played 4 FA Cup matches.

7 wins and a draw (against a team away from home  in the Championship playoffs).

All achieved in less than 9 months.

(Seems a long time since we beat Div 1 leaders Plymouth 5-1.  Winning at Cambridge was tough as well as they won at Newcastle last season)

8 and counting.

We are a great cup team.  But also all against better teams.

Was a great result, that I was not expecting but still think the Middlesbrough away win when we were close to the bottom of Division 4 is the best I’ve seen

That foul throw was comedy gold.

A week is a long time in football. 7 days ago the transfer window ended and it was doom and gloom now we can reach for the stars and dream of Wembley.

It has to go down as one of the greatest cup performances ever and the last 12 months have seen some unbelievable games. That was right up there and was ignored by network TV, but the rest of our time in this tournament will be covered in full and be watched by the wider football world.

Football can be dull sometimes and frustrating, but my god the highs are high. It's the best sport, simple.

Orsi, a bit player making up the numbers, has been a revelation in the two cup games. He's perfect in that role. The new guys coming in as well and suddenly the season has been reinvigorated and we have so many choices on how to play and who to play.

Exciting times.

Clifton and Orsi linking up well.   Lovely touch by Harry to put it in line for his left peg.  That wasn't hit right, he might not have scored.   Pleased for Orsi and Amos as well.   Both deserved something after their recent efforts.

Just a magnificent display from front to back.  You couldn't fault a single player out there, they all put everything in it and left nothing back.

I think it might get overlooked a bit with the goals and everything, but Crocombe's save at point blank range in the second half was unreal.  Reactions of a bloody Jedi.  

Hurst said after the game that he's got some difficult, but welcome, decisions to make for Saturday.  What a great position to be in.

Also took the Bet365 bet boost pre-game of Clifton to score anytime, 2 or more goals in the game and Town to go through.  Never in doubt.

I mentioned on the OJTWT in relation to a number 9 and judgements that we may already have a player in Orsi if he were given a run in the team. That wasn't based on a thought that he definitively had the ability, more we don't really know because we haven't seen him with a consistent run to build sharpness. I think that is still the case, to get a true reflection of him he needs 4-5 full games in a row to see what he's about BUT, I think the two Luton games have really put him very much in PH thoughts and a suggestion to the fans he could offer more than he has so far.

I saw him against Lincoln in the pre-season friendly and thought he was weak, non-physical and didn't offer too much, and I wondered if he was more a winger being asked to play upfront. His two performances against Luton have been the polar opposite where although not a bruiser he has been a lot more physical and showing ability to get on the ball when pressed by defenders.

Accepting that one game doesn't depict a whole picture, but considering last week there was general consensus we hadn't signed the goalscorer we needed, fast forward a week and George Lloyd put in a solid debut with a great goal, Dickson-Peters came off the bench and was in a great position to slot home and now Orsi has bagged against tough opposition with a great performance attached too. If these three players - along with O'Neill who is rated by PH - provide the level of quality that perhaps Simmonds, Pepple and maybe Richardson (who showed promise yet injury prevented us seeing it) didn't offer, I think we have reason to hope they can just bag enough between them to make up for that 10+ second-half-of-season striker we were hoping for.

You did indeed Chris, and it made we recall his contribution at Walsall when he set up Clifton for the winner. That combination created three of our five goal’s against Luton. They certainly are quite a partnership.

I'm just wondering whether orsi and Lloyd up front might work. Orsi's strength is definitely playing off someone

I think the one thing that goes against Orsi starting on Saturday is that he's going to be sore as hell today and deserves a good rest for the next few days.  

Hardly played all season then his two games in 10 days come up front on his own against a side two divisions above us.

Options.  Bloody options.

One thing I picked up on last night was that when Maher had a throw to launch in the box, Green stood behind the line. You can't be offside if your off the pitch so this meant two Luton defenders actually marked him but they stayed on the pitch. I thought this was really intelligent from us because it then meant anyone running on to a flick on from the throw couldn't have been offside.

I thought Orsi was just superb - in a Mark Hughes sort of way - his anticipation to get between the ball and the defender and strength to hold the defender off was excellent. No doubt on my MoM.
