No chance he'd take that anyway. Miles from Sheffield, way less security than here and likely same League as us next season anyway. He'll have plenty of cash from his Scunny and particularly Ipswich pay offs.

Only jobs I'd ever slightly worry about would be Rotherham or Wednesday.

And currently there is very little chance of him being successful in applying for either of those jobs if they became available now!

Coincidentally, Hurst and Dale Vince-Veg are both alumni of Staffordshire University. Must have been about 18 years apart mind but they could share stories from the Stoke scene around the compost campfire.

I dunno, he’ll be well known to Stale Mince having beaten them in the play-offs 7 years ago, and of course he overcame Burchnall himself in the play-offs last season. Not forgetting what he did for Shrewsbury when he joined them in a not dissimilar position.

There’ll be enough of a connection there for Hurst to feature amongst the early odds I’d have thought, but little more.

Think Skybet have stopped doing manager stuff below the Championship.

Never say never of them coming in for Hurst, plenty worse options available. Burchnall played some really good stuff with Notts that season we went up.

I think Hurst still needs to rebuild his EFL reputation before he can think about moving on.

His stock had fallen quite substantially when re-appointed him, hence we were able to re-appoint him. He'll still have a reputation as a 'great non-league manager, can he hack it in the league' type until he gets us promoted in the league.

We can let Hurst (and Doig) go IF we get the Cowleys to replace them

Why would a league one (for now) club want Hurst. Underperforming in league two

JS and AP leave all footballing matters to Hurst and don't interfere. I don't think he'll get that at FGR.

Definitely not, people moan about Hursts style of football and reputation and then ask for a like for like replacement. The Cowleys were successful at Braintree and Lincoln playing horrible football and then stepped up and failed every time. If we was in a spot we're we are looking to bring anyone in i'd personally like Neal Ardley or John Askey.

Surrounding the ref, players going down holding heads, winding up opposition players, jumping up and down on the touchline and yet somehow they built up a reputation, using the BBC, of being on some fairytale story that was all lovely and rosy. I would be nothing short of amazed and disgusted if we appointed them.

Yeah I wouldn't know which one i'd rather, Askey is a bit of an unsung hero in the fact he never seems to get the credit for the jobs he's done at clubs. His sacking from York this season was outrageous and there plight since his sacking only backs that up. Obviously did unbelievable to get Macclesfield promoted and stayed loyal to them when it all went to excrement when he could of easily jumped ship. Didn't really work out after replacing Hurst at Shrewsbury and did a good job at Port Vale taking them from 20th to the next season just finishing outside the playoffs.

Well he's not exactly tearing any trees up in League 2, is he?

Why why why are we talking about Hurst leaving ? Is it boredom ? Isn't there any painting or gardening to do.? We could talk about Scunny recording their first win in about 25 years.- what an achievement.

Bit of a left field appointment, but he must have gained a lot of knowledge working alongside some very high profile managers over the years.

Looks like a Pub League Darts trophy plaque glued onto his joggers, complete with zip (handy for stopping coins dropping out when you sit, fair play) paired with a velor tracksuit top last seen on Jennifer Lopez circa 2003. Then his missus' jacket that would be 3 sizes too small even without the layer underneath.

On his right arm he looks to be sporting a walking sock, with a longer version on his left arm.

Dunno where to start with his Nanna's scarf but it looks warm.

Less keen on the FGR coloured nail varnish on his thumb.

Can only imagine he's upping his game after seeing Dunc go for the wristband/suit combo when caretakering at Everton.
