Thanks for that, but you do have to ask the question why isn't it on Mariners TV?

Because it’s a media interview not a club interview.

Mariners TV is run by the football club. BBC Radio Humberside is run by the BBC...They are not the same thing. Stop finding random nonsense to complain about, enough of that around here already.

So what you are saying is that the club put out information first to outsiders and ignores those who have paid for mariner's tv etc. Or why should we pay for premier information about the squad.
It's not random nonsense as you put it but facts. You pay and expect something for your money.

But you get to see other stuff that's not available to outsiders. You're not excluded from the free stuff! Or do you think nothing should be available free to non-subscribers?

I know we haven't signed anybody 'marquee' but we've built a really good squad. When Orsi, Khan and Maher are fit there are going to be some good players not in the matchday squad.

Talking of Mariners TV:
I'm only interested in getting the Town commentary so can't see the point of paying £45 for a "AUDIO SEASON PASS" when I can listen to it on DAB radio.

Anyone without DAB radio or those of us who live out of range of the DAB station can’t listen to live commentary

The DAB reach of Humberside is pretty weak to be honest. Heading south you'll do well to reach Caistor before it starts to dip out, Swallow is probably the limits.
When the flats at Freemo were knocked down, I seem to recall the transmitter was moved to the BT Tower but it's quite a poor reach if that's the case.
Anyone outside NE Lincs has little choice but to get a subscription if they want to listen to the radio commentary.

It's £4.50 a month...when we were in the league last i'm pretty sure it was a fiver a month to see the majority of our content and get the commentary.

I think it is a disgrace that I have to pay £45 a year on top of my licence fee to listen to match commentary. This isn't the clubs fault though, it's the greedy EFL demanding too much money from the BBC for online commentary.
I'm not sure if the club could charge a £1 fee per season for commentary only or not as there will be some who don't pay it. If you are sat on the fence, the bonus interview with Hurst and John Moore the other week was brilliant. They have put out interviews with McDermott and Gallimore in the last week too which I enjoyed listening to.

Definitely my issue with this is that the TV licence fee we pays ensures that this commentary can happen. It pays for all of the production costs involved, including the rights that the BBC bought to broadcast the games.
If the broadcasting rules are that it can't be outside the local reach then fair enough, that's a excrement rule but there you go...But don't then charge extra for something that people have already paid for.
Completely agree it's not the club, it's the EFL that are just too flipping greedy. Complete short-sighted approach to think asking people to pay for the most basic of content (a radio commentary of a game) isn't going to have a long term knock on that pushes people away from the game. But the EFL is a members club. It's power lies with the members. Collectively they vote for these decisions, or at very least to elect and re-elect the morons in charge, so they're, again collectively, to blame.
Remember when the EFL wanted to charge for the use of fixtures?

I can get Humberside DAB in York (if I go upstairs !)
Plus Freeview channel 721 is Humberside if I use the TV tuned to Emley Moor.

Not quite sure what the problem is? I pay £4.50 for the radio commentary per month as at the moment that's the only thing I can really offer and put into the club. I'm hoping to be able to listen to most of our games but if I don't it's no big deal.

Yeah I guess that's due to the stronger transmitter sitting near Cottingham. Can only presume the one on the south bank is pretty weak in comparison.
