These are about to become a thing this winter.

In the 6th richest nation on earth, councils and charities are currently setting up places for the coming winter where you can go to get warm if you can't afford to put your heating on. Hope they put them near the foodbanks to make the journey easier for the needy.

There are no words.

It’s an utter disgrace. There’ll be people in full time work doing really important jobs who have to access food and warm banks because their wages and the cost of living have left them in poverty. 12 years of abhorrent, divisive, disgusting Tory policies that have utterly failed and brought the nation to this.

Not quite as bad as 'Capstick come home' but we're getting there.

The country is on its bottom, was on its bottom and people still voted for those idiots. We’re now finding ourselves in a position where Liz Truss is the likely new PM, a woman who couldn’t get out of a room with one door.

We’re copulated. We’ve a government that think it’s something to celebrate when people open foodbanks and now warmbanks. It’s a flipping outrage.

The latest whizzo policy initiative from Truss, following on from her recent 'Tax cuts reduce inflation' gibberish, is lifted from the TaxPayers Alliance (which isn't an alliance with anything other than a group of shadowy opaquely-funded right-wing 'think tanks'). Truss says that we can reduce government spending by billions by paying public sector workers outside of London less money. Oh, and cutting their holidays as well. Levelling Down, if you will. I don't think there has been any consideration of the effect of such cuts on the local economies but then she appears to be dim enough to believe any old tripe she is fed by her handlers. Don't expect anything else from the 'Britannia Unchained' crew, but this bunch of chancers shouldn't have been allowed anywhere near government.

May started it by bringing Johnson into government in a wholly expected misjudgement. He's an empty suit so the Sunaks and Trusses of this world followed and we're left with right-wing clowns trying to out compete each other for idiocy. Come the next election, we'll be facing even more of a smoking ruin of an economy.

There will be books written about the collapse of rationality in the Conservative Party in the future - providing we're still allowed to read them.

Liz Truss knows nothing about anything. Demonstrably thick, without any political values and inarticulate, she doesn’t even conduct basic research or apparently take a briefing before answering questions on matters that relate to her responsibilities. There are scores of examples to view. Seriously, she won’t be as immoral and dishonest as Johnson, but we might as well be led by a chest freezer on casters as this clot.

Here she is again, being shown up as dense and uninformed and semi-literate, and this is by a raging Tory. Honestly….any sort of scrutiny whatsoever and she collapses like a f@cking flan in a cupboard. Most of us have to articulate and explain our actions, decisions etc at work. If I performed like this as a manager in the public service I’d have been out a long time ago and rightly so.

She will be thrust upon the nation by about 160,000 Tory party members, who are mostly old fart right wingers.

It's sickening.

At this point I'm starting to think the 'leadership' options foisted upon us both previously and upcoming are literally picked by a Simon Cowell type judge to distract everyone whilst the really powerful people quietly get on with their day job of siphoning tax money into private offshore bank accounts unnoticed.  I can see it now:

Truss gets in - shows how incompetent she is and is hounded about it until the next election/has to step down after a major gaff of her own making

Sunak gets in - they 'leak' details of his tax evasion and offshore personal fortune and he gets hounded about that until stepping down/next election.

I wonder if, whoever gets in, will call a general election to prove they are the nations choice,or rely upon the few thousand tory voters who put them into power.

The Theresa May gambit.

Better have a few billion put aside to give to some religious right wing nutters to  form a government.
