No, not flasks, although it remains a huge issue!
But, 1 thing about our return to the FL  that understandably hasnt been mentioned is our participation in the Tinpot Trophy.
Would imagine, that given our previous heroic boycotts, 1878 will have to give us their opinion.
And from that, will the fans take on board their's and Hurst"s opinions or do we continue our boycott no matter what they say?

Oh no, does that still exist?! I’d pretty much forgotten about it!

I would like to think they are against the infiltration of U21 teams in the Trophy. Those young lads should be getting regular mens football elsewhere if they are good enough. It's a shame because I like the group stage concept but I hate the U21 team involvement.

It’s not changing anytime soon - maybe we just boycott the U21 game.

All the “boycott” stuff from the fans of numerous clubs hasn’t stopped it happening has it?

I think we know Hursts opinion, he’ll want to participate, compete and win every game in the schedule.

I’m not sure any boycott was “heroic”? I’d just leave it at the games are on go to them if you want to but don’t dis anymore who chooses either way.

The boycott failed as it was always going to . Just keep it positive for a season while we become an established League club again .

Lot of other possibilities to try......

Play the kids and reserves like we did the fa trophy. Or are there rules against playing a weakened team?

In a landscape where there will be a short pre season it is crucial that squad players and the yoof can get game time plus bedding in new signings.

Will the ressies play many games? The new turf at BP may not be ready for pre season so I guess we will be looking for away games at Gainsborough, Barton Town, Brigg etc.

Handwringing  over U21 issues to one side, we need minutes in legs for the fringe players and trialists.

There are rules, but doesn’t mean we shouldn’t break them and just pay the fine.

Back team no matter what cup were in, will be good to get game time for some squad players, and if we get far enough we’ll worth a trip to Wembley.

Being principled and being negative are not the same thing, far from it.

Boycott the U21 games 100%

Nothing has changed, so I will still be boycotting it.  I hope our reserves enjoy some game time, but I can't consider it a 1st team competition.

Did it though? I don't really care about the Papa John's or whatever soulless sponsor it has these days, the message is about telling the footballing authorities that fans would not tolerate under-23 or B-teams in the league system, something this was always a pre-cursor to.

For that reason I think it's vital that any boycott is maintained as vehemently as possible.

The boycott succeeded didn’t it ?! Definitely on our behalf. 300 odd for the Sunderland game wasn’t it ?

Hopefully 1878 will support the fans on this one.

So it’s true, Boris is a Town fan!

Reserves, youth team chances, and fitness returns would make up what should be a competitive side for each game.

I do think that we need a more organised method this season for squad and non playing subs to get proper time in competitive games.

Does that competition count for any sending offs or booking suspensions that players acrue ?

Absolutely boycott the intercourse out of it. We cannot give that b team excrement an inch. It threatens our very existence.

The boycott is an old argument with old owners let’s get behind the team in whatever comp they play in, if it goes against yout principles than quietly stay away don’t buy a ticket. I am loving the positivity around the place let’s keep the negative stuff away UTMX

Nah i'll keep my principles for the good of the club and other lower league clubs. I'll find other ways to put the equivalent money in. Positive and negative doesn't come in to it because a boycott isn't against GTFC, at least not with the current custodians. They'll understand what it's about as I'm sure will the players

Not a chance.

It was wrong then and it's wrong now.

Boycott.

Didn't the Internet Mariners play our opponents equivalent at the same time as one of our games?

A little conversation with the club might be handy to sound it out but it would be very powerful if Jason, Andrew and Debbie happened to spend their Tuesday evening watching an amateur game of football on a field between fans of the 2 teams playing a professional game of football down the road...

Hard to get that bothered about it. Nobody pays it much attention, apart from the final.

I seem to recall JF threatening fire and brimstone to the organisers of such a game. Sketchy memory of it but didn't he get a protest game stopped?
