Well done Grimsby, bloody hell you like to do things the hard way don't yer

At the beginning of the playoffs I never thought that it would be you to go up but you've deserved the promotion over the three playoff games especially as the first two legs was away, wish it was Notts that went up but pleased for you all, what a end of season it's been for the club and supporters,it's going to be hard to top it next season but who knows 👍

Have a safe trip home 🍻

If I did not have a bad heart I have now.

What a game well done to the players Hursty and co Jason and Anthony + the board.

All our magnificent fans who made the effort to get there ,wonderful backing.

I can now go into hospital knowing we are back in the league

So huge this. To get back up in one season under the new owners and to show so much spirit and character that was so lacking through the toxicity of the last couple of years. This is brilliant. This is our football club.

I think he has earned his place in the GTFC managerial hall of fame now.

What Paul Hurst has done in a relatively short time is remarkable, to get us promotion at the first attempt is amazing (especially after the bad spell we had) he’s changed the whole attitude at the club, he’s produced a team full of spirit and enthusiasm and for that I thank him.

Well done Paul, the team and the owner's

I'm supposed to take a home blood pressure reading and send it to my doctors. Don't think I will be doing it today.

I was like a wet rag in extra time and even worse when we scored in that last 10 mins.

I think that is the most incredible acheivement in our clubs history. For what it means going forward, for the timing of it with the new owners, for the challenge we had from rebuilding the squad almost from scratch, and then to overcome the most difficult against the odds play off run of all time in any league.

The dark days of grimsby town are well and truly over, theres not a doubt in my mind.

So pleased we are back, unfortunately I collapsed this morning and knocked myself out so spent the day in Lincoln A&E but after eight hours of tests hopefully no permanent damage. Biggest miss was enjoying the victory with my 15 year old son who I insisted still went to the match with his Uncle and cousin.

God looking forward to a promotion hug when he gets home.

Absolutely three incredible play off games and I believe our performances in these games justify our return to the league.

Roll on next season.

It's massive is this. There will be more fans, more away fans, more revenue, more exposure and Hurst's player acquisition list will be nearer the top of the page than the bottom. We also have a much better chance of retaining the likes of Fox and McAtee who must have alerted a few managers during this incredible play off campaign.

It's got to be one of the best campaigns of any team in any play offs given the odds against us.

Incredible!

We’ll look back in history and see this as a pivotal moment. It’s absolutely huge and I think you’ll be hard pushed to see a better playoff campaign ever again.

Congrats to all involved including Hurst, who’s turned round a mid season rot that me and many others didn’t think he was capable of doing so.

To all those who wanted Hurst out before Christmas  - you got it wrong.
To all those who wanted Holohan out in the early part of the Notts County game but who scored the goal to take us into extra time - you got it wrong.
To all those who preferred Effete to Cropper but whose long throw led to the winning goals against Wrexham and Solihull - you got it wrong.
The point is trust the owners and the manager - they know more about what's going on at the club , especially they manager who knows his squad better than we ever will.

Just a little extra point - my friend had £10 on town to win 2-1 in extra time at 14-1 . When he told me about his bet I just knew we would win - he is a very lucky beggar in betting!

England won a test match too and Root passed 10,000 runs.

Been a great day all round.

Should have a Jubilee more often.

I blame my lucky can of Guinness and the fact that I didn't drink the can of Thatchers in my fridge because it had yellow on it so had a Brewdog Lost Lager which is in black and white instead 🤣

Wow. Just bloody wow.
At half time I thought we were in for a long afternoon, they zipped the ball around so well. They had us on strings, pulling us from side to side. They looked dangerous every attack. We had a few chances but didn’t take them.

Turning point for me was Smith taking the head of Hudlin. After they, they didn’t have a plan B. JM’s goal was quality.

I’ve got a banging headache. A sore throat, horrendous heart burn but good lord. I love this team.

Hurst is an excellent team builder. This isn’t a squad. It’s a team.

Yes, totally all this! Plus that incredible layoff run actually mean that had we failed I think a few more players who caught the eye might have been on the way than before the playoffs started. Fox and mcatee in particular. We might have been down there for years again. Now we have a real shot at holding on to our squad.

That playoff run is surely the greatest of all time - the players have been phenomenal! New legends!

Anyone know what our final attendance was as almost 23k there and it looked mostly town to me?

Felt like a lot more than 13k in and out the ground.

I was thinking the same Swan. They sold 5k. So where’s the other 5k come from. Our end seemed to have at 3 times the amount of theirs.

You saw a different game to me , and the BBC and BT who basically said we were behind against the run of play at HT . I didnt think they looked much of a threat at all and were very lucky to be ahead

Opinions eh. I felt they were more threatening going forward in the first half. Didn’t think we offered much compared to the second half

Went past Swansea Cricket Ground this afternoon and immediately remembered Gary Sobers 6 sixes in one over - thought some of them were hit in a river but it must have been Swansea Bay. Mumbles pier not too clever
