Really ? If your son came home and said a grown man had whacked his arm and phone out of his hand and smashed it you wouldn’t want it looking into ?

I think the point that there’s so many variations of the story it’s impossible to really figure out what has gone on…

I most certainly would.
If, however, there was a video of a petulant sportsman knocking it out of his hand. Then that grown up admitted it. I wouldn’t waste police time by having it looked into. If every similar incident to this one warranted a police investigation it would be a farce.
Trust me I’m not a fan of Ronaldo, or Man U.
But I am a fan of common sense being applied when suitable.

Was the kid there on his own or with a carer? It also seems like the mum was more concerned with getting her story out than just going to the police and wanting a quick resolution, which I believe was offered pretty quick anyway…
