Quality.   Pleased for Taylor, he took it well. JMD's shot was harder than when it first looked.  It bobbled up at the last second.

Whisper it quietly but that was a playoff winning performance. Come from behind, score a couple of worldies and turn the screw in them to turn in 4 goals. Very quietly now........ Playoff winning performance

Impossible to argue with who was the better side and our goals were quality. The battling to win the ball back for the fourth is what you want see.

Those first two goals are exquisite…

Absolute male private move by McAtee to celebrate and goad their fans for the goal, no need for it at all.

Apart from that amazing game.

Two wrongs don't make a right. I'd like to think we could rise above and be better than this.

Professional footballer in winding up opposition fans after scoring a goal shocker.

Said it before, but i love him for his arrogance and shithousery.

Something we always seem to lack.

But imagine usual quality, and Liam deserves massive credit each week! love them.
Players will love the fact its all recorded and out there, genuinely could be the difference in a player signing, instead of turning us down

The last thing you want to do is change the way John McAtee plays. The way he carries himself, there’s a kind of visible confidence and arrogance about him, something we’ve rarely seen in Town players in recent years. And I have no problem with arrogance, as long as you’ve got the chops to back it up.

And if that means he upsets the odd opposition fan on occasion, then so be it. What he did on Saturday was certainly no worse than Kabongo Tshimanga running right down the flank of the Lower Findus laughing his head off, despite having scored right in front of his own fans.

Who gives a fùck anyway? If it’s ok for fans to heckle players from the stands, it’s ok for players to have a bit of fun when things are going their way. It’s not a playground.

Matchday Moments is what the players make it and they made it a great one on Saturday. My biggest takeaway of the game from that is that McAtee was interacting with the crowd and gesturing for them to lift it up during the warm-up and just before kick off. He is an asset to this club that we need to keep hold of and a big game player. Matchday moments is great but it focuses on all things attacking, I would like to see the odd goal line clearance and last ditch tackle thrown in there but I appreciate Liam needs an assistant for that to happen.

Considering it is chesterfields highlights, not a lot of chesterfield on them which show how good a performance it was.

Looks like ref was ok as well. Booked a player from both team for celebrating in front of oppositions fans (which is right imo) and also could have taken easy option and booked waterfall with that clash with the keeper to appease the crowd but saw it for what it was, a 50-50.

Good day all round me thinks. UTFM

Our first 2 superb goals just get better with more viewings. Both in the corners and unstoppable.

I also really liked the crosses for Clifton's goal and Taylor's goal.  Just begging to be put in the net.  JMD made up superbly for that earlier miss.

We need to be close to this level of performance for the rest of the season.

'Rise above and be better' isn't what happens in football though, especially not in this league. More like cower to it, watch the other team take the urine, and go home licking wounds. We've done that for too long now. Any psychological advantage is exactly that, an advantage. Shithousing is mind games and it causes the opposition to deviate from their game plan a lot of the time to their detriment. More of the same please.

I'm not sure what advantage can be gained from goading fans needlessly. I'm not having a go at McAtee's on the pitch antics, but those celebrations were uncalled for. If he had been abused all match by their fans then maybe but he hadn't. Most players do rise above and be better by not goading opposition fans.

Just look at Bromley away the antics towards our fans that nearly caused riots. Holohan, Clifton & Taylor all showed that it is possible and that you don't have to be a male private in front of opposition fans.

True but would they have still taken points from us by not being arseholes? More than likely, so I doubt the actions of the players and the bench towards our fans swayed the result in their favour. Therefore no need. Unless someone can prove that goading opposition fans leads to wins, it is just not needed.

Bloody hell, give it a rest. Yeah, maybe he was a bit of a male private with his celebrations, but can't we just enjoy what was probably our best win of the season!

Why soo defensive?  I loved the win, I enjoyed it as I mentioned in my first reply but that doesn't mean I can't comment and have an opinion on something. I put an opinion out there, others have disagreed and we are discussing it, isn't that what forums are about?

Perhaps I'm in the minority but I was expecting to see a bit more than just the goals in a 12-min video of highlights.

Obviously the result and performance was amazing, so not criticising that! And I loved the behind-the-goal angles for our first two strikes. That's worth praising.

I also appreciate we didn't edit it. But I couldn't make the game on Sat so had to listen on the radio. Sounded like we created loads of chances besides our four goals but other than JMD's miss and Waterfall bumping into the keeper, it barely showed anything.

Didn't we have a goal disallowed? Didn't they hit the post? Taylor missed a good early chance, did he not?

100% with you, Mr Poo. I think the real issue here is that it's a bookable offence. I am in the 'sensitive' campo in general. Got drenched in abuse at a pre-season game when I asked the town fans to cu+t down on the swearing. Even the Bolton security laughed at me. So thats where I am generally. But a player celebrating scoring a worldy in front of the home fans when they were right there being a bookable offence? Get to f+ck. That's where we seem heading, as a nation. Scared of our own shadows instead of clinging to decent behaviour...and yes, I think not swearing in front of minors in public is much more a statement of decency than not celebrating a goal in front of the opposition. Oh, and if you freeze the matchday moments you will all see that JMD could not have controlled that ball, totally bobbled up a good 2 feet. Going to have a lay down now, been a long day :-)

JMD was aghast at that bobble as the ball jumped up so quickly as he set himself to tap in - certainly no time for any body adjustment for a bundle into the net.

At least that "miss" did not stop Town players and the team spirit as each goal went in was great to watch !

I imagine JMD was as pleased about our comfortable win as anyone. I suspect the general take would have been less sympathetic had we gone on to lose 1-0. Not a criticism by any means - it’s just a fact that results ultimately change the complexion of moments like this.
