Surely they’ll just rearrange for tomorrow? With the lack of fans why aren’t some clubs being more proactive and shifting games around to get them on? They’ve all bleated on about how many games they’ve got to play (no more than normal but hey ho)...

We’ve clearly travelled down last night...we brought the KO forward but ironically that could work against everyone in this instance...

I remember playing at Kirmington on a flooded field and after doing a sliding tackle, in which I aquaplaned quite a few yards, the cold dirty water went up my backside like an enema.  :-/

If postponed I would suggest they follow Lincoln’s example last week and rearrange for tomorrow.

In a sensible world I suppose saying.....well shift it back to 3p.m if the weather looks favourable....

But......depends what the ref /officials are doing with their evenings as well.

They’re refereeing at Exeter...shifting it back two hours won’t impact they’re evening...hardly going to the boozer...haha.

Ironic, every reckoned Covid would be the reason we have a excrement ton of games off...not the case, just shite weather...

It’s pissing it down all weekend.

Amazed they’ve not put covers on, that pitch looks sodden.

The key word in the tweet is "scheduled". Suggests the kick-off time may be changeable.

We’re shite either way...surely they’ve got to explore tomorrow as an option.

What was the reason for the early ko?

We’d have to check with Humberside police, don’t know if they’d have time to reschedule the horses and dogs for such a clash.

Probably move it to either 3pm or 5pm kickoff, apart from getting home later it’s not as if anybody’s got any thing planned for this evening.

The McDonald's at Strensham services on the M5 shut at 10PM at the moment. The team need to be leaving St James Park by 19:30 or realistically they'll have to stop at Michaelwood Services which only has a Burger King (KFC closed at the moment for those who know it).

For that reason 5PM is the latest it is reasonable to kick-off. Be totally unfair to expect GTFC players to have to eat Burger King.

And given the Covid contracts and atrocious deals we offer players you can’t expect them to buy food from M&S or Waitrose either...

Also bang out of order to expect us to pay for a service station Burger King in the current financial climate.

once again events conspire against us - now got another long, long journey in a more congested timetable, whilst they won't have wanted to play today anyway, having played midweek and picked up injuries and suspensions

we're doomed i tell you, doomed!

Could have told them that yesterday, the 24 hour forecast for down there was atrocious, non stop rain for 24 hours.  Tip pot officials.

An annoying waste of time, money and travel.  Wasted energy.

It was 90% likely to be postponed.  I posted last night that the weather forecast from 2 days before was exactly the same:  “36 hours of rain, some heavy, from early Fri morning to at least 1700 hrs on Sat”.

There has to be a better way of managing games.  What if we were taking say 2,000 fans?  Would that have changed things?

The team travelled down last night.  This makes it harder to judge the impact of the rain on the pitch at such an early stage.  But, we also got to Barrow before the game was also called off very late.

Sort it please,  fans could see the game being called off.  Why not the officials and home club.?

I actually never saw that before, for whatever reason I cant  remember now, I couldnt get to the game, i remember getting home turning the telly on at about 30 mins in and it was something else completely ..no sign of it. Back then it took a bit of time to find out what had happened.

Mixed feelings. At least we can't lose. I would rather delay the pain like I'm having to delay gratification at the moment.

I ordered the programme from ECFC yesterday afternoon and it arrived at midday which is impressive as is the programme.

I can engage with the game with a programme and a few clubs are issuing. However for me its a positive not being able to go to games. The pain of 2009-2010 took a long time to go and the 2017-18 season was desperate for me personally with other tragedy in my life. Like a few others who have posted elsewhere, Town's current plight might feel very painful but there is a degree of separation from it with the current situation and I'm quite grateful for that to be honest.

I hope I'm wrong as I usually am but I  wonder where the next win might come from.

I was watching Number Ones of 1982 on NOW80s on Thursday and it featured the J Geils Band and Centrefold. How I enjoyed bouncing up and down to that in the Pontoon all those years ago. I got quite misty.
