For me a 4-4-2 with
James McKeown
Conor Townsend, Rob Jones, Ryan Bennett, Richard Tait
Andy Parkinson, Jean Paul Kalala, Craig Disley, Lenell John Lewis
Padraig Amond, Omar Bogle.
Parkinson might be my only question mark but struggling to think of fantastic left wingers over the last 15 years, still was a good player and underrated imo.
Feel like thats a team with some attacking edge

Somewhat depressing, but also telling, that nine out of your eleven were non-league signings. For what it’s worth, I’d probably have Mildenhall or both of the Henderson’s ahead of Macca in goal if loans are allowed.
In terms of pure ability, you’d probably have to fit Dembele in there somewhere as well, even if he did go through the motions towards the end of his time here.
Likewise, Ryan Bennett also should be in there on that basis.

I'd have gone whittle over toto, this did make me realise we've lacked so much in the creative player department anyone half decent has never stayed more than a season

Having though about it, I’d also ha s the original Macca in at right back. Easy to forget he was still around in 2006.

I agree with Osborne, I thought he was fantastic and Slade messed him around.
Nolan was superb.
Surprised nobody has mentioned Nathan Pond yet, I thought he was brilliant.

I had originally typed Pond, but Bennett came to me just before I clicked submit. Really good player.
Osborne could and should have gone higher, and his treatment under Slade was such a waste.

I agree, surprised one of the midlands league clubs didn't take him on. Wont forget this in a hurry.... It's soul destroying even going from back then to now. :'(
Cheltenham Town win most of their games when Chris Clements is playing, hardly lose anyway with him in the team, and struggle without him playing. Still in 6th position play-off spot.

With that front 3 we'd score 100 a season, we'd be unplayable.

Some people picking Henderson as our goalkeeper. He played 7 games for us. Are we picking players on how they’ve played after playing for us or how they played for town.

I’m intrigued would you prioritise Dean Henderson over Macca based upon a handful of good performances on loan (Carlisle & Plymouth) or on what he’s done since?

Solely based upon his time on loan. He was head and shoulders above our level just in those few games. He dominated the box and pushed our defensive line out ten yards, in much the same way as Dave Beasant did in his short loan in the early 90’s.
Whilst Macca is a decent shot stopper, I would choose the two Henderson’s and Mildenhall over him.

Rather telling that there's no outfield player who's played for us in the last 2 or 3 years, anywhere near any of these XI's.

Picked the same front three and would concur they would have been great to watch together. I picked Hearn rather than Connell, Bogle and Amond as not only did he score plenty of goals but IMO he was also more of a team player and I think he would have definitely played in the Championship had he not suffered those horrendous injuries.

Probably because he was an excellent player for us despite what the boo boys at the time might have thought.

He seemed to be made a scapegoat by some but was a tricky little winger with good close control and could beat a man.

Exactly what I've got in my head. Only dilemma was Tait or Macca, but the latter was still very good in that 05/06 season. Seems crazy to not have a striker in who scored 37 goals in his one season with us. But Reddy and Bogle working off Gary Jones would be poetry in motion, whereas that midfield would simply be arousing.

His energy levels were unbelievable too. He was essential for that high pressing game we played.

One thing that is surprising is that McKeown is chosen so frequently, even over Mildenhall. Decent sized gap between them.
Mildenhall spent his career top end of League 2, League 1 and had spells in the Championship. McKeown hasn't even reached the top half of League 2.
