There’s no chance at all we finish 22nd and no chance we finish below Scunny either.

No point playing the season then. At least we stayed up.

I will take that. Walsall players will think they are going to have an easy win, and we stuff them 3-0 😃😃😃

Below Barrow?!

Was going to have a listen but if they have put us that low down and below the Scunts won't bother

Wow
That’s a worrisome assessment
Hope we know something they don’t
We will find out if morcambe have improved. They seem to have made some decent signings and could be hard to beat.

I follow these guys on twitter and always thought they were pretty knowledgeable but that table is all wrong (not just us).

Bolton winning the League despite history showing that the way they’re going about it never works. Morecambe 15th and Scunny above us is absolutely laughable. Can’t wait to see how this compares to the reality.

Having given it a quick listen it's based on the note that we've lost a number of senior players and not replaced the; at the time of recording George Williams was the only player we'd signed with recent EFL experience. The signing of Danny Rose changes the complexion of things slightly, as would Sean Scannell if that deal were to go through.

I still think we'll see more senior players and / or talented youngsters arrive over the course of the next few weeks, by which point we should have the basis of a squad more than capable of keeping us out of real danger. Ordinarily, you'd expect must squads to be 95% complete a few days before the start of a new season, but it's very different this time around with clubs having to play the long game when recruiting players.

In other words, it's a bit pointless assessing our chances this season until we know what the final squad is going to look like.

I wouldn't worry too much, I suspect our more impressive signings haven't put pen to paper yet.

How the hell can you predict the table when half of the teams haven't got a full squad yet ?  ??)

By contrast, FourFourTwo Magazine put us in 10th in their League Two predictions/preview. I think the fact that there is such inconsistency with where people are putting us this year just shows (to me anyway) that this season is likely going to be even more unpredictable than normal, so I'm not too fussed about where they've placed us.

Right now I'll take that

This is an absolute disgrace and I've stopped following them on twitter and they should pin this podcast on the dressing room wall.

The season starts in 4 days (and for some has already started). They give their reasons for predicting Town finishing 22nd and they had a point when they recorded it. We hadn't signed a central midfielder and had "lost" Hess, Whitehouse and Cook who were important last season in that position.

IH said he were 6 or 7 short around the time the podcasts was recorded. We can't really argue with them predicting the table on that basis. We've since signed Danny Rose and it appears Sean Scannel & Danny Preston are incoming. That still leaves 4 short. Probably another defender, 2 x midfielders and a striker.

I sort of questioned the listing once they labled Cook as an important player for us, agree that the loss of Hess and Vernam is a big one, but Whitehouse is an average, run of the mill midfielder you can find at this level.

At the time they posted it you've got to agree with the fact we are still missing a number of spots but to put us that low down with a former Wales u21 and a current Wales u21 in the midfield is still a bit harsh when you consider how high they've placed Scunny who've signed the Queen of the Amazons and Loft who scores once every six game to partner with Van Veen who was hardly prolific on his return.

So you think we'll be 23rd and Scunny 24th ?

I really dont see us being anyway near half way, bottom half all season for me. Its hard to judge without being in touch with all the other teams and only having local knowledge but i really dont see us as being prepared properly and a slow start this season with what is still a thin looking squad i think will just make for a gruelling season.

Love to be proved wrong mind.

Yeah, FourFourTwo have us 10th & Oddschecker give us an agonising 8th.

If our youth players can more than match Harrogate we have nothing to fear.

Mid table and above for me even higher if Ollie can get this other player in that will make the hairs on your neck stand up.

The VERY new Scottish blog look at the league positions throws up this rather interesting scenario.....

1. Grimsby
2 and below - everybody else.

relegated Scunts and Stevenage. What's not to like about that?

I would not put the following teams above us:

Barrow
Harrogate
Salford
Scunny
Stevenage

I would imagine that if Salford look like ending below us, their manager will be out on his ear considering how much they are spending on fees and players (which them seemed to be doing before the salary cap kicked in)
