Why would it be coup?...not to dis the lad but he's done knack all since he went to pastures new.
As I've said before, he may think he's worth X amount in wages but ultimately he's only going to get what someone is prepared to pay and on current form that won't be a lot
He'll be a gamble for any club and I'm not sure he has the work ethic that Holloway requires.
I'd rather remember him fondly for his goals that got us back into the league and move on.

His most recent spell in this division brought 19 goals in 27 games (far more impressive than his non league season) and it wasn't that long ago. I'd be ecstatic if he came back.

(Although it does seem odd to be discussing potential signings when there's no football on!)

I’ll stick  with Ollie knowing what he’s doing. If he signs him good, if he doesn’t, so be it.

Not a hope in hell of Omar coming back at this stage of his career. A league 1 side would surely be interested in the summer.

Ultimately money talks but what Omar has here is the love of the fans which could get back him to his best.Similar to Torres at Liverpool.Done exceptionally well there due to being  loved and thrived of that.Chelsea with their differing ethos didnt get the best out of him and form suffered.Hence from what Ive read Liverpool football club was a outlet for a lot of people given the problems the city have had and was outlet for many more so than other football clubs.

Ive seen it from talking to ex pros as well in the lower leagues.Hence when your loved by the fans it makes all the difference.Footballers arent robots and cant be at their peak if everything is not right of the pitch etc.

Well...yeah? I'm hoping everyone on here buys toilet roll at some point. Unless they're feeling particularly European and use a bidet.

I really like your sentiments Rick12 and would love to see Omar Bogle back, sadly unless there is a fund raiser, which in the current climate will be nigh on impossible for Town fans to pull the rabbit out of the hat this time, his wage demands will be too far away from what we could offer.

Two things on the balance would have to happen, we push the boat out and Omar drops down to that best offer, it could pay off in the long run should we get promoted though.

Yes personally cant see it happening. He's tasted the higher leagues with the better wages and most likely dont want to drop back where he came from.Hence still only 26.

Fully agree, we can put him on our wish list though and you never know we signed Gary Birtles all those years ago and he was far too good for 4th tier football at the time.

Hadn't Torres already tailed off prior to his move to Chelsea?

Iam not sure as Iam not a Liverpool fan but loosely follow football as a whole. As I remember it Abrahamovich desperately wanted him and Fernando Torres wanted to leave for in his eyes a club with bigger challenges.

Bogle would be a gamble, that's for sure. Some fans have mentioned an attitude he had last time around. If anyone's capable of bringing out the best of players I reckon Oliie's as good as anyone.

What nobody's factored in at the moment though, is that professional football will probably change beyond recognition whenever it comes back. Sponsors? Probably too busy paying off government grants to keep in business, or maybe even out of business themselves. With the likes of SKY seeing their cash cow disappearing from their eyes I can envisage clubs advising their players it's drastic pay cuts or move on. For the much older fan like myself, it could herald a return to the days before BIG money destroyed the game as we knew it.

When you consider such a scenario Omar's return might not seem that much pie in the sky?

Back of my mind seems to think he went through a spell where he couldn't buy a goal yet Chelsea came in with mega money for him....then Liverpool spunked most of it up the wall on Andy Carroll.  I think they got Luis Suarez as well so swings and roundabouts.
