And now begs the big question.  Ryan Bennett at 18 or Matty Pollock at 18? who looked the best player at that age?  same league same age.

I hope when Mattie moves on it will be for more than £500,000.

BUT

Two great players for their age for us and I think it will not be long before bigger clubs ( not Peterboro ) coming looking at Mattie.

Not sure why i got red crosses for this as surely people gonna draw comparisons?
For me Bennett but only very slightly. Think Pollock may have made debut slightly earlier tho im not sure.

Funnily enough Pete I was going to pose a similar question but it was "who's the best between Robson and Embleton"?
As for Pollock Vs Bennett, I'm not sure Mattie has the pace of Bennett but I do think he'll become a championship player within the next 2 years, just hope if he does move on (and I've said this before) that we strike a better deal than when we let Bennett go.

Heard Leicester and Wolves are interested so he may be meeting up with Bennett.

Bennett definitely. But Mattie is an excellent player for his age. And his name is a fish

Both Pollock and Bennet are great!

As for Embleton or Robson too early to tell. I notice that Embleton has hardly featured for them so far this season I wonder if he'll be back at some point.

If he carries on in his current vein, I wouldn’t be surprised if there were Premier League offers for him in January. It’s very difficult to put a price on a lad who’s still only played a handful of games, but the kind of transfer fee he’d be likely to command would be small change to a major club.

You don’t get many centre halves playing regular first team football at 17 / 18.

Bennett by a million miles as things stand. He was better than many seasoned L2 pros in his teens and you could just tell he was destined for bigger things by the time he was 18. A cut above other defenders in the league.

Pollock is a big, strong lad though and reads the game very well. Watching his positioning you can tell he has quality and he'll only learn and get better the more he plays first team football. I think if he applies himself and gets the game time then he can play at a higher level than L2. If that's as high as Ryan Bennett has gone in the game, time will tell.I wouldn't be surprised if many bigger clubs are watching his progress.

It can go all sorts of ways with young players, some show early promise and then don't live up to it after turning pro. His brother is 21 and playing non league football after getting released by Hartlepool while not being able to break into the first team and having a trial with us.

If young Matty goes on to make the prem league like Bennet he will have done the biz.

Hope if a prem club does come in it will go a large way to pay of most of the benign loans, that would be liberating.
