It really is about flipping time. We need something , , us fans deserve something , , our loyal hardcore home fans deserve something , the away fans that turn up all over the land deserve something  , let’s have us a home tie in Round 2 and who knows what can happen next. Jolley get this lot wanting sucess and you and them can be legends.

We get 54 grand if we make it through R2, plus a share of the gate receipts. Nearly every ball in the bag would be a fairly low-key game so we'll make more from the prize money until we draw a Prem side away.We got 36 grand yesterday.

In my lifetime I have seen Town play every league club except for Man Utd. It's over 70 years since we played them in any competition.

The Daily Telegraph published a table of Man U. results against other teams. Town have played them 20 odd games and we have the best record against them of any other team. Mind you we played them at the worst time in their history which helps!

We played them in back to back games in the league and put ten goals past them. We won the old second div while they finished one place above relegation the third div.

The plan: draw Maidstone, Stockport or Woking at home. Ie a very winnable game

Then get Manchester United away as my dad says that’s the only side in the 92 he’s not seen us play and I’d fancy a trip to Old Trafford.

Wrexham also now 2 up.

Impatience. Staying in the cup by drawing dross at home and beating them is better long term than getting Lincoln or Scunny who are likely to beat us and send us out.

We have to be careful how far we are going to progress in the cup, might create a backlog of league fixtures, so lose at home to some non league team in round 2.

You would expect Lincoln or Scunthorpe to be a full house which would be better than going out to Accrington or Newport away in front of 2000 people. There would also be a higher chance of it being televised which is more money in the bank.

I thought MK Dons was one of the worst teams we could draw to be honest and look how that turned out.

Personally I want a plum third round draw away at one of the big teams but there are no "easy" games in round 2. Guiseley put 4 past a Cambridge team we struggled to get a shot on target against.

One of the lowest teams in the competition however would give us a chance of TV coverage. If Salford or Billericay get through their replays I expect them to be chosen for TV.

Billericay not as easy as it sounds on paper. They’re another club owned by a maverick, multi-millionaire sugar daddy and currently sit top of the Conference South with possibly the largest wage bill outside the football league.

They’re paying the likes of Jamie O Hara a small fortune to be there.

Billericay top of National South with a good record (goals and good defence) averaging more than 2 points a game.  Have clearly had a good cup run as well.  If they win the replay at home, then it will difficult tie for us.  But we should still win, even if it takes a replay.

Chesterfield away is easy to get and they are struggling badly this season, 1 point above the bottom 4.

I used to regularly get in a ruck with their boys. Nasty bunch. Fellah in their bar once spilled my pint and it took him 3 seconds to say sorry. Another one tutted when he saw me standing in his regular spot by a barrier on the side stand.

Grimsby are an absolute dog's droppings of a side, and if we beat the Essex wide boys in the replay, I don't have any worries about playing this side.

Firmly believe that if Lester hadn't have gone to Blundell Park to play for a draw, that it would be the cod heads in this division and not us

Indeed. I think we’d have a good chance of being on TV if it is Billericay as there’s evidently a bit of a story about them and it probably looks, on paper, like a game with a reasonable chance of an upset given their league form.

Indeed. I think we’d have a good chance of being on TV if it is Billericay as there’s evidently a bit of a story about them and it probably looks, on paper, like a game with a reasonable chance of an upset given their league form.

I wonder if.we might just miss out. Will be 4.live games I think and maybe the following just pipping us:

Guiseley vs Fleetwood
Wrexham vs Newport
Solihull vs Blackpool
Rochdale vs Portsmouth or Walsall vs Sunderland

Not much else of any appeal so guess we must have a chance. Chesterfield vs GTFC wouldn't be the easiest sell for them though!

I fully expect the BBC will nab the game for a sunday lunchtime regardless of whoever we have to visit. Theyll take the usual 8 matches for their final score programme BUT but theres more than a chance it could be on if BT and BBC take 4 games live but only if we go to Essex

Hope it's Billericay-never been to Scotland  ;D

You can pitch a tent in my back garden for cheap digs if you want?

They'll pick before their replay I think.

Wrexham vs Newport might be taken on by BBC Wales seperately as they have done with Cardiff (and Swansea?) cup games in recent seasons.

I'm not worried about Chesterfield, they are dog and duck tin pot and will be easy meat. It'll be the biggest game of their lives when we play them, they may even make a commemorative plate or something like that.

Gutted not to be down there. Too lackadaisical about getting a ticket, ‘but it’s alright it’s on the telly’
Doh! It’s not on the Beeb and I’ve never paid for tv in my life.

Sounds like they’ve been lucky with decisions and Oldham wastefulness.

Doubly gutted cos there were 700 spare tickets after all.

Not as gutted as H&R...conceded two late goals and didn't even get a money-spinning replay.

They are lucky they are playing a league side, the plucky non league side might be up for the fight though.

Plucky non leaguers lose out yet again to a team that plays in the big boys league, the spireites tiny hopes crushed and they cry their eyes out and go an lose the next game to the dog and duck 2nd team at pond lane, boo hoo Chesterfield

Yeah, it was that game that sent them down.

Nothing to do with the fact they picked up 4 points from 9 games after beating Notts County at the end of March.  :-/

Are we talking about the mighty Chesterfield that are 19th in the National league. Oh yeah i'm well worried  ;D

There are some comments here that are very much over confident. ANY non league team AWAY is a potential banana skin

Yeah.. I'd rate it as a 50/50 game. A better chance than drawing any League team away from home or League One club at home, but still a 50/50 chance of us going through. Anyone remember our last three away games?

:B Yes they wasn't inspiring  :B

Lets have a home win Saturday and a nice away win at Sixfields and that should set us up nicely for the cup game , , , whoever it is!!

50/50 of winning the away game, but 25/75 of losing it in the first leg. 75/25 of us winning the replay. So overall around 68%, or around 2/1 in our favour!

Far too much confidence on here from fans of a misfiring team who've just lost 3 away games on the bounce.
presently on oddschecker for best odds on billericay / chesterfield win 8) ;D

hope it's billericay - great line we could repeat from last night's 'people just do nothing'

'Essex?? Which part of London is that in?'   ;D ;D

If it is Billericay then there have several players we will know from the Conference like Julien in goal and Emmanuel up front from Bromley and then Cunnington from Cambridge. Most of the really big names have gone but O'Hara is still there on at least £10K a week.

They've done a lot to their ground too so they could cope with a good away following without any problem.

If Morecambe win their replay then the prospect of them hosting AFC Wimbledon is a truly mouth-watering one.

If your a Morecambe or Wombles fan your quite pleased, a bit like if we're on would a Womble be interested.

Probably not pleased if its a 12:30 kick off. (well that applies if it's Morecambe or Halifax).

A bit surprised at that to be honest, the 6 games they have moved are...

Bury v Luton Town
Tranmere Rovers or Oxford City v Southport
Shrewsbury Town or Salford City v Scunthorpe United
Swindon Town v Woking
Rochdale v Portsmouth
Sutton United or Slough Town v Gillingham or Hartlepool United.

If we're not on/moved it must mean the BBC are certain we will progress hence no upset.

We’re on it if we play Chesterfield, KO date and time TBA for Billericay. Possibly another TV fixture?

If it’s Bill n Ricky then I assumed that would be a nailed on TV game looking at the fixtures.

BBC seem to love jumped up, cringey, non league vanity projects like Salford, FCUM, FGR and Billericay and to see them go up against a massive ex semi finalist like us is dynamite.
