I think he's doing that (selecting Hooper over Vernham) to give them a chance.

I think Hooper is much more suited to playing on the left than Vernam.

Very few mentions of Welsh so far. Maybe Newport playing the channels rather than midfield? Not heard Matt at all!

Joke referee. Just gave a 'high boot' against Hooper when the Newport player stuck his head down to knee level. Hooper never even made contact with him. Thought we'd left that standard of officiating back in non-league.

Wait for the pitches to start cutting up or for his agent to turn his head again. He'll soon go back off the boil.

Been watching on iFollow. They've had the best of the chances and possession, but haven't caused us too much trouble yet. Our passing and composure is letting us down when we get the ball in the final third. The pitch isn't great either - everyone keeps slipping over. Woolford hammering a free kick in a decent position about 10 foot over the bar just now pretty much epitomizes the performance so far!

Awful goalkeeping. Amond just jumped around in front of McKeown's face as they set-up for the free kick, ran away and then McKeown didn't even dive. Looked comfortably savable.

Not playing well. Many over hit passes, clumsy challenges and not really sure how that went in the goal.

Amond being a bit of a male private to McKeown before the free kick was taken, preventing him from setting up the wall. Maybe something that should be written into the rules as it's unsportsmanlike.

Shame on you Amond.

Wheres the passion we seem to just be going through the motions today. Midfield is none existent, our full backs and Inside forwards can't deal with their wing backs even though it should be 2 on 1 when we are defending. We're sitting too deep and just hoofing the ball aimlessly forward for Cook not to win the header. Hooper is once again a waste of space, I really was hoping he would carry on from where he ended last season, but no reverted to his bad habbits. Get Thomas on for Hooper and move Cook out wide and Rose in for Clifton as its just not working for him today.

Theyre not average though, not going on current form, theyve won 3 out of their last 4 games in all comps, and the draw they got was against the team that was top of the table. Theyre 5th in the league if they win this. But my gripe is how fine the lines are each game between us being on of those teams at the top end of the table, but instead were down in 17th

We’ve almost a whole new squad, new management, playing a new system and haven’t had the same starting 11 start two consecutive games - through injuries or suspensions - once this season. They’re going to be inconsistent.

A point away at MK Dons doesn’t make us worldbeaters and losing away at Newport won’t send us down. Just some perspective would be helpful. It’s boring going through the same histrionics every week.

I can’t quite work out why you’ve decided to slag off a player that didn’t even make the pitch today.

As Jolley said when he signed him, he’s a young player with raw talent, who will have to work hard to push for a place. He’s a squad player with potential.

No - not at all. We've signed enough bang average benchwarmers down the years without signing someone who barely lit a candle in Spanish League 3. There's at least two young strikers in the youth set-up (Burrell & Paul-Jones) who would benefit from being part of a match-day squad.

We will be fine this season. The team is a lot better than last season.

The disappointing thing is that, in 5 games, we've not turned up twice. We may have played well in three matches, but you'll struggle to get anywhere if you don't perform 40% of the time.

Hopefully more consistency to come.

Folks
Just look at the league tables at the position of the last three opponents. All top five I think.
Yeovil are seventh so won't be easy.
Please be patient and our team will get stronger.
Unfortunately modern society shoot from the hip without seeing the bigger picture.

GTFC onwards and upwards :)
