Interesting post from skrill on another thread that we've recently been putting to bed one or two bogey teams.
Up to about 4-5 years ago it seemed like half the 92 plus an embarrassing number of non leaguers were our bogey team!

So, who are still our bogey teams and have we ever been a bogey team for anyone else (I know this seems unlikely!)?

Crystal palace and Macclesfield  at extreme ends of the spectrum?

Man Utd - not beaten them for about 70 years! ;)

Watford. Can only remember seeing us beat them once.

Wycombe. Even when we were a division higher we couldn’t beat them.
Colchester Utd. Right back to Layer Rd days.

Darlington at home - think we took 1 point in 8 games between 04/05 and 11/12.

As for us being a bogey team, I remember in the '80's we seemed to win just about everytime we played York. I think we won at their ground about 4 or 5 times on the trot.

I like to think they've not beaten us since 1946 ;D

We're a bogey team for Man Utd! They have only beaten us 2 times in the last 17 games!

We won 4-3 on our last visit to OT. We beat them 6-2 and 7-3 at BP in the 30s. Imagine that today!!!

I was there on a Monday night 17th April 1972 to see us win 1-0 with a Lew Chatterley thunderbolt from outside of the penalty area.  ;)

Fleetwood are the ultimate bogey teams. 100% defeats

At this level Wycombe is our worst. Just 2 wins in 19 games.

Was that the last time we beat them? Must be worse than I thought.  :)

We beat Watford at home 1-0 the last time we played them in 2002/03 when we were relegated from Div One (Two)

I can remember us getting hammered 6-3 at Vicarage Road one season in the mid '90's but we have beat them a couple of times after that, as well as that last time we played them. Also 92/93 we beat them 3-2 home and away and the season after we won 3-0 at their place too.

Larry and me were talking about ColU Les - hence reference to Layer Road.

I was at that 6-3 game at Vicarage Rd. Crichton seemed to throw one of them into the net from our perspective. Was the 3-0 win away the one when Shakey scored?

From August 2004, we have played you a total of 16 times and you have gained 10 points, not including the FA Trophy game you won from what I can find.

Home games though. I can remember us winning 2 or 3 games at the multiple names arena, but, even when you were the only side worse than us in the football league, we still couldn't beat you at BP!

The Wendys.. from memory, never seemed to beat them too often..

So we still have an awful lot of bogey teams then? Other way round; we have a pretty decent record against Lincoln don't we?t

We beat Sheff Wed 2-0 the last 2 times we played them at BP - I only remember this because Darren Mansaram scored in BOTH games!

Lately our record v Lincoln isn't bad but right through the seventies I don't remember us ever beating them-home or away!

We've only won 1 out the last 6 v Lincoln, which means Joe Colbeck's corner was even longer ago than I care to remember!

I vaguely remember Gary Megson having a moan about us being West Brom's bogey team  ;D

Off the top of my head I'd have said Wycombe. I remember watching us beat them pretty comfortably in 2003/4 but that's about it.

just found this

http://www.thefishy.co.uk/story.php?id=8056267

all the teams that we beat regularly are non league bar (surprisingly) Wigan, whilst our bogey teams are fleetwood, dagenham, liverpool, sunderland, blackburn the 2 sheffield clubs and norwich
