I am putting this on on behalf of Gaz, who supports another club (sorry he doesn't say which one)

I am appalled at what happened at Stevenage but Not surprised following the treatment of my 9 year old daughter and myself at that horrible club.
We had spoke to someone about my daughter being the away mascot, all was agreed, we arrived got welcomed in by a young 20 year old who was doing mascot duties, while my daughter was on the pitch with the Stevenage mascots an older woman came screaming up who let that girl on the pitch get her off now, I said excuse me who are you and what is the problem she replied I want her off the pitch, I said she is the away mascot as agreed by your club, she said who did I speak to and I said she then stormed off and said we will see about that, the parents of the Stevenage mascots apologised and said they feel ashamed of their club, they said it had ruined there day too, anyhow my daughter had to stand off the pitch as stewards were on hand to make sure, our captain said what's up, so he said she is mascot and she Will be walking out, Which she did despite another official coming down with this irate woman, I had the email to show her, she was vile as was the bloke and I feared for my safety, anyhow my daughter went out with the team and we quickly made it to the away end after the home mascots parents apologised again, as I went to sit down I was surrounded by the man who was with the woman earlier who said he was club secretary and his 5 heavy handed stewards escorted me to the turnstyles leaving my upset 9 year old daughter upset as it was a shock sat in the stands, they then demanded I hand over money or be thrown out, I had to pay a fee for entrance even though I was given complimentary tickets I was given from an official and then pay for the mascot experience even though I had an email saying its free as it is at our club and most league 2 clubs for away mascots, it was an awful experience from an awful club
.
We have never returned but what happened to Grimsby fans didn't surprise me one bit, that club is vile run by vile people.

I really hope the fans at your club carry on for justice as it was wrong and I think your fans will get a lot of support from all teams.

Farcical. How have they got away with this? Is someone on their board on the FL board too?

Do we know if Gaz made a complaint to Stevenage and, if so, how it was dealt with? Sounds like another one to keep the IFO busy.

Bra-gate and the disgusting behaviour described by Gaz provide 2  appalling events at Stevenage that have no place in football in the 21st century.

Football is trying to promote itself as a family game yet Stevenage appear oblivious to this and unfortunately they are not alone as i am sure most of us have had bad experiences at clubs around the country.  Fans and in particular 'away' fans are treat with contempt but the clubs of course still take their money.

Sadly the EFL seem to be as ineffective as the FA. Both are custodians of our game but both consistently bring the game into disrepute. Made up of people out of touch with the fans and more concerned with their self interests. How the secretary of Stevenage and his staff remain in post is beyond belief.

I hope the parties concerned take these matters further.

Stevenage FC are a disgrace to football. Hopefully they will soon return to the depths of non league football where they belong and i for one will not shed a tear when it happens.

Stevenage is just a horrible place in general it's no wonder it has a football club run by thugs and criminals.

I remember reading about Stevenage on the Conference forum and they were utterly loathed back then, I always wondered what a club had to do to get that sort of hatred. Reading the post from Gaz and looking at the smug threads on the forum about the Bragate events I can now see why.
In the light of the recent sexual assaults onslaught of Weinstein and so many others in all walks of life, this needs taking to someone much better equipped, both  legally and ethically than the pitiful EFL.

Funnily enough I stayed in Stevenage the night before one of Town’s Wembley visits. I didn’t know where the hotel was, so got a taxi from the railway station. He was extremely rude and didn’t want to take us, as he said “It’s only the other side of the shopping centre”. I was paying, so, sometimes his pick-up is a long fare and sometimes not. A rude, rude man he was. Needless to say he got not tip, other than be more pleasant in future.

Funnily enough, we got a taxi to the ground for the game last season after getting a slightly later train than originally planned. The driver was a real cockney geezer who spent all the journey telling us how much he hated Stevenage and what a shithole it was, moaning about the road layouts and the like. He'd apparently lived there for 20 years because of his missus but you'd think he might have wanted to change something if he hated the place so much!
