Guess I’ll have to start the thread as no one else is interested, don’t blame them really, same starting 11 as last week I believe, so the same mind numbing display no doubt

Pell and Wright both start for Cheltenham.

No Rose on bench, K Osborne back on the bench.

Rose falls off the bench for   K.Osbourn.....i can understand why Karleigh has come onto the bench but not why its Rose who has fell off, unless its an injury.....given the Cheltenham style of play we could well need physicality off the bench ....
as we hardly created a chance against Crawley then sticking faith with the attacking line up is a brave decision IMO

Slade said an unnamed player has missed training not for injury but personal reasons he doesnt wanted to reveal. Mitch Rose??

Can't see much out of this game. Harry Pell to win about 90 free kicks frustrating our fans then he scores against us again and sticks it to us. Drinks all round for the lads at Cheltenham tonight over a good laugh at how crap we are.

Wow. The negativity round the club at the moment is quite distressing. Yes performances havent been up to scratch but never known town fans not caring about our club. Especially on an away day. We used to be amongst the best away fans in the country.
No atmosphere at home and yet we sit mid-table with still a big chance of play-offs, one defeat in 7 and 1 goak conceded in 3 games.

Think we need our heads shaking as we were stuck in non league for 6 YEARS!!!!

negativity comes from what is going on  on the pitch.. as the saying goes.. move along nothing to see here . and supporters are doing just that

Fully agree with your sentiments Stew but people can’t help losing interest, it’s a symptom of watching awful football. I’m at work this evening and genuinely forgot we were playing until the starting lineups notification popped up on my phone, and that’s pretty sad.

Doesn't mean you sit on the edge of your own box and accept it. You press higher and force a mistake from them, not just let they pass the ball how and where they want. We've got these beat easy today if we continue to pin them back like we have done the last 5 minutes and force them to punt the ball aimlessly. Sound familier?

Maybe slade wants to sit deep for 5 10 mins and then break.   Im sure the players deserve recognition for tonight if it stays like this.   Bogey team.....hated by most...and maybe a better performance so if you cant give praise after tonight then there is something clearly wrong.  Dont forget we are the away team.

It's almost as though that's a deliberate tactic to weather the inevitable storm when you're beating an in-form team at their own stadium before pushing forward again when they've tired.

Not sure what to make of that last 15 minutes or so,  a solid 1st half and a competent half hour of the 2nd almost undone. We seemed to be in control and soaking everything up and in Dembele we seemed to have an outlet that kept them nervy, surely Jaiyesimi for Dembele would have kept things in a similar vein?

Great 3 points, great display overall but we have to get the strikers striking.

Had fears that was going to turn into Slade's "Parslow" moment.

Its only 3 points but it seems a very significant victory this evening.

Subs and change of formation put us onder the cosh a little at the end, Dembele was our release like you said but when Matt came on we became narrow opening the wings up to more crosses. Kelly coming on ment we were down to ten men, 3 noticable moments, get the ball on the wing going for a run shouting come on prove me wrong and got blown off the ball by the slightest of nudge, even put his foot in or even looked like he was trying to and wasn't capable of taking a throw in.

Pleased we've won.

Good win in the end but didn't get his choice of subs and  finally Kelly comes on. He is always five yards away from where the ball is, he chases opposing players but is never anywhere near them or close enough to tackle or block a pass, and cant even beat a man with a yards lead. He got the ball, one touch to go past him and trotted when he saw their player might get there at the same time lost the ball and 45 secs later its gone from their corner flag and into our net. You could see when he took his touch he had no belief whatsoever that he could beat his man. Needs binning asap. or loaning out to Scarboro to see if he can learn something from their wingers and get some confidence back

Matt seema pointless and only really put any sort of movement or effort in once when he flew in to block a shot, apart from that he looked like he couldn't be bothered. We was crying out for some sort of pace to go forward with in the last 20 minutes, but a win is a win and I can't fault any of the starting 11's effort and commitment. You could tell even at 3 1 up us the fans where nervous.
A good win to push us forward and we're now 5 unbeaten? UTM

Last nights win might indicate that some things are coming together, as frustrating as days like Saturday are on reflection it clearly takes time to get out of this league after coming up from non league if you look at the table this morning recently promoted sides such as Mansfield, Cambridge, Barnet, Cheltenham and FGR sit below us some of whom have spent relatively big for a mediocre season to date.

Above sit Lincoln who are probably on the biggest crest of a wave and cash flow in their history, Luton who have been building for 3 seasons and can attract better players due to budget & location and Newport who have been a 4G surprise season to date.

Still expect us to finish upper mid table and possibly come back stronger next term, for those expecting/demanding "champagne football" this is the 4th tier and sometimes the standard will be iffy, maybe we have been away so long we'ed forgotten that?

Champagne football? Average, or ordinary would suffice right now if done consistently.

Iffy? Some of these displays have been downright unforgiveable.

We lurch from one disastrous hoofball session to a glimpse of a real football in a matter of days, until that is resolved one way or another I will continue to support the team but will have one very suspicious eye on Slade, the man headhunted to do that very job.

Unforgivable is losing 1 - 5 at home to Doncaster, 5 - 0 at Crewe and picking a mad selection away at Pompey and losing 4 - 1, I get it's a "game of opinions" but where Town are concerned it's often a game of "over expectation" too.
