Unlike most on here, I'm very pleased with the two deals done today.

Asante is a striker with a lot of potential who has been out a long time.  More than any other position, strikers need match practice and getting that in a familiar environment at his old club is an ideal way to build fitness and confidence.  If he has a stormer out on loan, then he can always come back early.

It seems we have some injuries to our back four and also it's no secret that we need to be bringing through some younger players.  We have signed a player known to PW and who has already been training and playing with the squad and who also knows a few from previous clubs.  This makes him a good candidate to provide cover and also to be a potential candidate for the future.  The fact that he has been trialling here for a while on (presumably) no wages suggests firstly that he's got a good attitude and also that he won't have cost us much.

Both bits of business today seem very sensible and I can't find any reason to be critical.

HJ seems to have the potential. Where does he play exactly, have a feeling he will have an attacking role

Not sure whether the new lad is good business or not but I’ve never understood the logic of writing a player off when no one has seen him play or knows anything about him. No player would ever climb the leagues on that basis!
