In terms of strike force, id want to see Andy Carroll paired with Jamie Vardy. If I remember correctly, Carroll does actually win a fair amount of flick on headers. Set Vardy up with his pace which in fairness is blistering, I’d put money on him scoring.

We need to be like the Republic of Ireland under Jack Charlton and search for all those foreigners who have English connections, any body else would be better than most of this lot.

Ive never really rated Kane as top draw and always preferred Rashord. However credit to him as he keeps on banging them in

I don't think Stones is actually particularly good at defending at the moment. It's all well saying he's a good footballer but defenders need to defend first and foremost. I'd prefer to see Smalling in at the back, I think, as I don't really rate Jones. I suppose Cahill in there for experience, though I don't think he's that good either.
Back four: Walker, Cahill, Smalling, Rose
In midfield, I'd play a central 3 because I don't think that any of our attacking players are much cop defensively (and neither are the defensive players!). No idea who, however, as most of them aren't very good. Dier alongside a couple of nippier midfielders, perhaps? Maybe Delph if he plays a bit this season and A.N. Other. Are any of the Under-20s or Under-21s going to be up to the job come next summer, I wonder?
In attack, I'm not at all convinced by Alli at international level. Endlessly loses possession with attempted flicks, tricks and dribbles then spends the rest of the time falling over in an attempt to win free-kicks/penalties. I'd play 4-3-1-2 with Rashford in 'the hole' and Welbeck alongside Kane to do a lot of his running for him. Welbeck has a fine record for England and he'd prove a handful for most defences. Kane is in great form but is often isolated up front on his own in an England shirt.
No room for Sterling in my starting 11 because he doesn't seem to have a flipping clue what he should be doing when he's wearing an England shirt. OK as an impact sub when the opposition defence have tired a bit. Same goes for Alli.

Along with Vardy a players work ethic who I greatly admire whenever Ive seen him on tv

Yep, Vardy or Welbeck alongside Kane would be useful. Only thing about Vardy is that he's not ideally suited to play against packed defences. He'd probably do better against better opposition who are willing to push forwards more.

I agree with most of that team Abdul but playing f uck knows along side Dier is asking for trouble,
When ever he gets the ball he does not know who to pass it to.

3 4 3. Height, skill, pace and a good pass in the side. Aging defence but we will score more than you.

He hasn't let himself go as much as Uncle Geoff either. He's kept his shape.

This lot would never win anything-what we need is a team that showed passion and were proud to play for their country.-players who carry their own boots to the ground instead of the chauffeur-and who on earth would manage this rabble of riff-raff :)

There seems to be a big gap in midfield hence Dier plus?????, and I'd try Tom Davies on the basis that he's better than Barkley, and i know zero about Winks or Chalobah.

Haha...thats why you are sat behind a keyboard and not working in football...you would win fck all with that set up.....
I would start Springett not Banks , Norman Hunter should be in midfield and you have to have Jimmy Greaves FFS.

Kane will eventually be England's top scorer.
Henderson will play.
There will be low expectation, we will struggle to get out of group.
We will get out of group, scrape a 1-0 in last 16 against lower opposition who will out play us.
120 2-1 win in quarters. Lose to Iceland on pens in semis, after playing our best football and deserving to win.
Butland
Walker
Stones
Jones
Dier
Henderson
Rashford
Alli
Lalana
Kane
Subs to play Vardy, Sturridge, Welbeck.
I hope a younger player actually comes through in midfield. Drinkwater of Delph for Henderson maybe, but I think Mr. Southgate will make Henderson captain.

To be fair, Henderson's the youngest of the 3 ;)
I agree about Kane becoming top scorer though.

As a Welshman I just want to see us get there through the play offs, ditto Scotland having lived in this wonderful country for the last 27 seasons. ;)

After watching the under 21's last night, I'd drop all the prima donna's(except Rashford) that just go through the motions wearing an England shirt, lets play the young lads that give it their all for their country. I'm sure if the under 21 side were to play our supposedly top class players in a competitive match the young lads would most likely win, much more entertaining to watch last night than that shower that luckily just managed to scrape a late winner against the mighty Slovenia.

Dier is a waste of space-all he does is run towards his team mate who has the ball and when he is passed the ball he sends it straight back to the same player. This is all well and good if an opponent is taken out of play but rarely happens-the player still finds the same opponent in front of him. No footballing brain whatsoever-the sack.

Go back a few years and that's all David Batty ever did, could take a good penalty though ( not)

For me it's obviously more complicated then just grabbing the youngsters and playing them but imagine grabbing a group of 17 or 18 talented under 23/21s and bringing them in now. OK for the next 3 to 4 years we probably will struggle but giving them time and getting the experience we'd be looking at 2022 onwards as being a real force.
