Not up to speed after missing most of pre season. Slade said he needs to get some game time for ressies and is working hard on his fitness. There is no agenda as some have suggested.

Said in an earlier thread that he seemed to be carrying a bit of timber when playing for the reserves, still showed a bit of class though

He had a family bereavement in the summer.

I would still take an overweight Clements over Summerfield though.

Summerfield played well on Saturday. If you watch the highlights, he made some very telling tackles and some decent passes. I don't blame him for their goal as I think it was Woolford's error.

I don't think either of the middle two could reasonably expect to be dropped next game based on that performance, though I suppose Rose may return if fit.

That's something I never expected to see on The Fishy.

Seems most disagree with your opinion on Summerfield looking at the player ratings...

1     James McKeown     6.2
2     Ben Davies     6.2
3     Paul Dixon     5.4
5     Nathan Clarke     6.1
6     Danny Collins     7.2
7     James Berrett     7.0
10     Sam Jones     6.2
19     Luke Summerfield     5.6
25     Martyn Woolford     6.9
27     Siriki Dembele     5.5
29     Jamille Matt     6.1

Dixon who played well, didn't put a foot wrong and was awarded man of the match gets the lowest score there. Says all you need to know about how prejudiced against some players from the off some fans are.

Summerfield played well, full stop. If he was capable of playing at that level all the time, I'd be happy enough to see him as a regular, but he's not.

Yes, a great precedent to set to the players.

You mean competence over incompetence? Yes, I agree.

Summerfield---a huge improvement from last season, but not the fans favourite so he still has  a lot to do, excellent squad player though.
