Scunts can move to Wembley for all I care.

A council that doesn't dither on the big decisions and has a bit of forward thinking helps. They will have their second built before we get past planning.

Because we are, lack of council backing, nimbys with pitch forks, location debates, mythical joint venture partners and in reality not having a pot to p1ss in does not help.

Will say  it again as i do on every..."why do all these other teams beat us to a new ground" thread that comes up....

we dont have any money to build a new ground !!
we dont have any significant equity in BP !!
we are completely reliant on outside investment paying for the majority of any development !!

Looks very nice. Only trouble is you will be able to fit the whole of their crowd into one corner of the main stand!!

Despite North Lincolnshires population overtaking ours in the last decade they will still come out with the " We do well to get 4000 when the town only has 300 residents" bulls***  ;D

The fact that North Lincolnshire covers over four times the area of N.E. Lincolnshire might have something to do with it  ;)

North Lincolnshire -     Area   326.8 sq miles......Population  170,800

N.E Lincolnshire -    Area  74.1 sq miles.......Population  159,100

What decision have NELC dithered on? GTFC and Extreme haven't submitted a planning application yet. Any delays now are squarely because GTFC/Extreme haven't managed to put a deliverable plan together yet. Until they do there is nothing NECL can do.

And re: Scunthorpe. They got granted full planning permission in April 2015 and at that time announced their new stadium would be open in August 2016. Well that opening date was 12 months ago and they haven't even started any of the initial infrastructure work yet (Road alterations to M181 etc...) so it's highly likely they will be at Glanford Park for the next 2 seasons at least and probably longer.

So Scunthorpe are hardly a glowing example of getting a new stadium built quickly and efficiently are they?

I would say after year upon year of false dawns that the council have played a big part in any progression towards the new stadium. Take a look at development of most other major Towns in this country over the last three decades and we have fallen behind even Scunny. It doesn't just stop at the stadium ....look at Butlins ....look at the Debenhams wanting to get into town for years and when they finally decide to make room it's too late and they move to Scunthorpe. Bar the Premier Inn and hotel /solicitors in Grimsby how else have we moved forward whilst other Towns change beyond recognition.
Let's hope we now start to see progress with the cinema development and Peaks Parkway stadium finally moving this town forward with facilities it's townsfolk should've had 20 years ago.

Ours looks like it's got some weird horrible double roof from the pictures, hope it's not the actual proposed stadium design.
