I know it's a long shot but I don't suppose there is anyone with a season ticket not going to Chesterfield who would be willing to get tickets and sell them for a little over the odds to me? Got two long time supporters coming from working away for years who would love to be at the match. Thanks guys UTM

Hi The Fishy,

I'm off to Chesterfield and I want to take two mates who don't care about Town other than for big games. Can anyone help me get them tickets?

Cheers UTM.

Opening a can of worms but this is why it should be 1:1.
We could be in a situation here when a season ticket holder MAY not get a ticket when a part time fan could get one

Quick question, would I be able to use my nephew's season ticket book to buy two adult tickets?

What do you mean chesterfield is big game? It's just another league team usual dump of a town with another cheapo stadium, with no atmosphere probably worse than donny it's really nothing special.

First game of the season is always a big game that will have a large interest from GTFC fans.

Because you actually get a decent atmosphere away from home unlike at the mourge (BP). Plus you tend to find the people who follow Town away are a lot more passionate about the club and are  more realistic.

They don't. Otherwise we'd take more away than we get at home ( Liverpool mid 70's, Wembley etc excluded).  But people that go to both generally prefer away games as there is less pressure, and the match itself is only part of the day out.
With our magnificent away support the fact that we will occasionally sell out adds interest.

It's a completely different experience away from home, and I generally come away from one having thoroughly enjoyed it even if we lose. The same cannot be said about Blundell park, although I always keep going back for more winter frost bite misery.

I know your probably not interested but just to let you know your friends from down the road sold thein whole allocation (2000) for the opening day fixture at Wycombe in 40 minutes. More tickets coming we hope.
We have actually moved into the 21st century and now have an online ticketing system.
Don't think we'll have too much trouble selling whatever you let us have at your place this season.
Infact if you would be so kind to let us have the Osmond and Findus stands we would at least get half of the amount that wouĺd want to travel in.

Thats one hell of a leap in time for supporters who have been living in the dark ages for so long...as with most on here...some of your figures last season and ST sales this are admittedly impressive but just hoping the almost overnight rise is met with a meteoric fall by Christmas.

Good chance of rain according to the Met Office.Lets just stick em in the corner of the Osmond oh hang on several hundred of em (total away support before last season) don`t like the view so refuse to attend.I only recall 2 Imps not making an excuse Helgy and Old Guard the rest were always a total bunch of surrender monkeys 2-3 early defeats and they will struggle to sell the allocation as per normal. The only thing big in Lincoln is the church.

Season ticket holder for many years and a fan since the late 60's. Look im not deluded, I know that football runs I cycles and at the moment it's our time. How long it will last who knows. I've only just registered on this site but I have read it for a few seasons now and I can tell you how stupid some people sounded on here with their delusional rose tinted specs on and don't get me wrong we have them on our site aswell. You had a few seasons of challenging at the top of the National League without getting out which kept the interest and crowds up at Blundell Park until you actually did get out. You had an average season last season but you need to be challenging up around and in the playoffs this season to keep that interest there or your going to have your first test for a few seasons on how loyal your support is.
Posted by: mariner91, July 28, 2017, 8:49pm; Reply: 45
Like the two seasons where we finished 11th in the NL and our average attendance was still significantly higher than yours was when you were midtable in the same division? Or our last four seasons in L2 before relegation when we never finished higher than 15th yet our average attendance never slipped below 4000? For ten years from 2002 we only finished above 12th place once and got relegated three times. It was shit, utter shit. Yet we maintained a good core support and we certainly always filled your away end without making excuses about dog shite and bad weather (Sincil Bank is in a shite area just like BP is btw).

Face it, as much as we are all a bit jealous of the wave that your club is currently riding, the overwhelming majority of your current support showed no loyalty or support to the club during it's bleakest years and are literally jumping on the bandwagon. I hope the fans that stayed loyal are enjoying it, they deserve it for sticking with the club. But the rest of your support are gutless turn-coats who only came back once you had a decent cup run and started winning games. You couldn't even muster 4000 home fans for a local derby on boxing day three years ago ffs.

Wlived here for 40 years and have son in law who has had season ticket at the bank throughout this period, in my good books today as I became a grandad, who always came to BP and always travelled alone refusing a lift with us "codheads".

Re their support and season ticket sales, which are fantastic, I personally know several guys who I played alongside many years ago who have only just started to go watch Lincoln, other than an odd visit each season. Bet your bottom dollar they will not still be going when the bubble bursts. That said I do not think it will burst for a while as good money is flooding in with their recent pre-season trip to Portugal solely funded by sponsorship and more South African money is on its way with rumours of further businessmen getting involved.

There is no doubt local interest is high but still think we are in safe hands with RS and I have a number of £10 bets laid out to support my view we will finish above them. Injuries to Jamie & McAllister though are a big blow to getting off to a flyer but several clubs showed last year that it is a long season so lets wait and see!!!

That is true. But we love a challenge. We're stroppy illegitimates and are just as likely to turn out in even bigger numbers. Meaningless game at Barnet in April? The response: 1200 there - let's have a party.

Loyal? Compare your average away following versus ours when we where  both non league then you'll get a true picture of loyalty you one season bandwagoner, conspicuous by your absence n previous years gone by,

HERTS GTFC I'm not comparing both our support and I agree our support was poor after we got relegated but that's because we were crap we had some terrible managers the football was crap and that's why our crowds went down compared to the Keith Alexander days. What I am merely pointing out is that you have had a number of seasons challenging for playoffs ect in the National League which kept your support reasonably high, you get out that league into the football league and you would expect the crowd to stay with you in your first season back, you were doing ok for a while but then tailed off resulting in Bignot going and now you have RS back who will be under pressure to have you at least in the playoffs to maintain the level of support you have. Slip down the league a bit into mid table and for the first time in a few seasons your support, not from diehards but from take it or leave it brigade will be tested.

I see your point but our home gates where reasonably stable all the way through non league and the away following for that level was always good too, I don't think Russ will be under pressure to get us in the play off's to be honest as unlike yourselves, Mansfield and a few others we don't have cash to throw around and any success will need to be built for another season at least.

The take it or leave it brigade have already "left it" to a degree after the madness that was that tw@t Bignot and the sh1t football he served up, like you lot last season if we fiddle with prices have a decent start and a cup run against a couple of decent sides attendances will rise just like any other club.

So are saying is that if you turn out to under achieve next season people will still come to see you because they have bought a season ticket?

RS has already publicly stated through the media that Play Offs are the target for this season...so he is under pressure......the inbetween the lines comments of JF when RS was appointed was that play off/ promotion in the next season (not long term ala Bignot's masterplan) was the expectation.

RS is under pressure without a doubt.

I don't think our attendances will drop this season.Including our junior section we have around 6000 season ticket holders. However if we did have a poor season it would be interesting to see how many renewals we would have for the following season. I think it's only natural the crowds would drop off, that's just how football is. If your successful everyone will jump aboard and when it all starts going wrong the same people will be making every excuse under the sun why the can't go.

Hey towncryer, how come they're on general sale now if you sold them all in 40 minutes? Weird eh?

That's 50 per minute Townryer, don't your ticket office would be able to handle that volume, mind you thinking about, it helps them having six fingers

I'm in the same situation, joined the Trust and never heard anything back, so don't know if I'm a Trust member officially or what my Trust number is at all (if any!).

Send them an email and I'm sure they'll sort.

Yeah sorry about the mis-communication think some on our site were getting a bit excited. All tickets sold now .......I think (2000).
Interestingly enough didn't you play your first away game (2nd game of season) away at Wycombe last season your first away game back in the league. Think the crowd was just over 3000 so unless you outnumbered the home fans you won't have took half the number we are down there. Granted little bit further for you to travel than us but thought you would of made a bigger effort to get more down there considering how you keep going on about how big your away support is.

Funny how you can take 2000 away when not 2 seasons ago you couldnt get that at home 😂

There's websites that can cater for any sordid fantasy you can imagine and this weirdo chooses to come on here and try and get a reaction out of us. I don't get it?

Doesn't sound like we've sold all that many of the extra allocation of tickets. I don't want to be rattling around that side stand all on my tod! Hope there's a last media push from Town and we get near the 2500 mark. We'd have sold out with that elusive number 9 in place I'm sure, still a great turnout.

I got tickets and will be on my way from Northampton

Can't believe anyone is upset/annoyed that a Tier 4 side has only sold around 2000 tickets for an away fixture

Fuuuucking hell you're getting desperate researching our away attendances aren't you?! Either that or you have that well-documented Lincoln illness, Grimsbyitis, and already know all facts and figures about Lincolnshire's premier football club.

Good stats Golly, also how many of those games were midweek or stupid early kick-offs, always effects the turnout.

Golly's stats has it at 25,658 as away support, so  as an average of say £15 each that works out at approx £384,870 we spent at away clubs, wondering what we received from away support at BP.

How does saying (clearly in jest) that I don't want to be rattling around a stand on my own equate to a criticism of the numbers travelling? Did you stop reading before my last line? Honestly.

There were a total of 10,677 away supporters at Blundell Park for our 23 home games last season. That averages 464 per game.

Here's a couple of interesting stats...

We took more away fans to our game at Doncaster than 3 other clubs in League 2 (Accrington, Crawley & Morecambe) had for their entire 23 away league games combined.

Only Plymouth & Portsmouth brought more fans to BP than we took to their grounds. And that is partly because our away game at Portsmouth was on a Tuesday night and Plymouth came to us on the final day of the season hoping to win the title.
