Craig Clay has left Motherwell and signed for Leyton Orient in the National league.

That's a big drop

I'm not sure it is. Probably get similar crowds.

The drop is only the size of the step up he made. Decent player that has found his level. Looks like Tait on the other hand is flourishing in the SPL - good on him

Good signing for Orient. Solid player who knows the league and will always give 100%. Good luck to both Orient and Craig.

Just shows what level the SPL actually is, good signing for Orient!

Very good signing for Orient that. I'd have him back at Town as a squad player without doubt. Very underrated IMO.

Didn't rate him really and was surprised he got a move to the SPL to be honest.

His work rate and commitment was excellent but his football ability was very limited.

Agree with you Johnny. Was nothing special at all. A bit part player who would of struggled massively in this league. Disley had so much more of an all round influence with almost a decade on Clay.

Wouldn't say it's a step down for him , more like a sideways step considering the quality of the SPL

Decent player at that level, good luck to him

How do you decide he didn't flourish? Started 31 out of 38 league games in Scotland and came on off the bench in four others. Sounds like he did fine there to me!

Regardless, ought to be a good signing for Orient. You know he'll give his all, even if he runs out of steam after 70-odd minutes of the game!

Whatever you think of the SPL you still play Celtic and Rangers multiple times (someone will provide the minimum number of league games) in front of huge crowds. His "big" games will be Tranmere and Hartlepool?

Honest player but not the quality we needed. Was a little surprised he went to Motherwell in the first place but that just fed my prejudice about how far Scottish football has fallen. Wish him all the best for the Os.

Simply by the fact that he's left and re-joined a conference team, didn't look at the facts/figures but he can't have shone surely ?.... Or is that how bad the state of Scottish Football is at the minute  :-/

Probably!   :)

Which makes England's lucky escape against their national team the other month even more embarrassing...
