I like the guy and don't think he's been given a long enough run .

He started last season quite well but looked a bit lightweight and easily bullied off the ball,he has since bulked up and now looks much stronger and looks like he could be the one now to do the bullying. He was really lively today but needs to be more aware of team mates around him, instead of shooting at every opportunity when a pass would be a better choice.

Looked a lot more interested today than he did in his brief appearances last year ( first two games aside). Promise is there.

Scored a few last year in the ressies and continued in the same vain this preseason, surely deserves a chance?

Would like to see him showing this improvement when we play against some proper teams before getting too excited.

Not being negative but doing it against a Northern Counties division side and then Scunny's u18s is a bit different to L2. Same with all the trialists, better to judge them against realistic opposition.

And how many times have we played against lesser opposition and left ourselves wanting.  Its just pre season Tommy, some you win and some you lose.  Id hazard a guess you'd have moan like mad if we lost to them.  Sometimes they just cant win.  Win and opposition is shite (granted we should he beating them) lose and were relegation candidates.

I don't know what thread or post you've read before writing that Meza. No-one's even talking about our preseason results.

It's called having a balanced view taking into account the opposition, but if you want to back Yussuf to be a success based on a couple of goals against amateur sides and kids, you're entitled to that opinion.

Yussuf proved he could do it last season on big occasions i.e. Carlisle away, Hartlepool away. Given a good go this season and he could turn out to be great, so far he's showing good form......UTM

Big occasions? Last time Hartlepool had anything approaching  a big occasion someone's pet monkey lost his life publicly

The potential is there it's just if he wants to apply himself really. Scored a couple last season and got a good reaction from fans but then seemed to vanish from existence in games. We seem to often have a problem with consistency in players who start well but then only seem to have 1 good game in 10.

If he stays focused and up for games then there is no reason why he can't be in double figures goal wise.

TBF he only started one more game after those two goals in two games start, hard to drive any sort of consistency into your game if you only get 5 or 10 minutes here or there.

He was talking to (I presume) a mate on the phone in the gym changing room.
This was just before MB got the push. He said himself he's not training well at the minute and can't seem to get going. I'm guessing that was why he didn't get many starts !!

He's a natural goalscorer, and could easily get 10-15 goals next season if he gets a run in the team

Only saw him for 45 mins against Clee , but he did look to have bulked up and was stronger and fitter than I remember him from last season.
