Just done a little wiki search. Robinson is a 22 year old Dutch winger (played less than 30 first team games), Dixon is a 30 year old experienced left back who played over 200 times for the Dundee clubs and had a 3 year spell at Huddersfield and Issah (full name Kamal Issah Sissoko) is a Ghanaian central midfielder whos had a few clubs in France and Norway and last played in Turkey.

Neither Robinson or Issah have played in England before.

Is it really a Slade pre-season if you haven't got an African midfield trialist who has been playing for an obscure European club?
Posted by: Maringer, July 12, 2017, 5:39pm; Reply: 3
Certainly an eclectic selection of trialists. Seems odd that Robinson is described as a striker?

Dixon sounds promising. 85 league appearances in three years for Huddersfield in the Championship suggests he can't be complete shite.

Issah looks like he'd be far too good for this level. He's played in the French, Norwegian, Danish and Turkish top divisions, including 21 appearances last season within the Turkish top league. All 3 look like they could be good signings though.

I like the sound of Dixon and the look of Robinson. Looks like he has pace, trickery and some strength. Slade does like pace, which is always a good thing for a side to have!

Dixon is the wrong side of 30.do we need another 30+defender

Come on he's 30 not 35, good pedigree let's see if he's got a bit of pace.

Certainly the three of them have the hairs on the back of my neck tickling.have to say on paper they look far too good for the likes of us

Seems with Dixon since he's left Huddersfield it hasn't quite worked out for him as he would probably hoped a relegation and then a season in the Championship.

So he may be hoping to claw his way back up a level or two, which means we could just get lucky. Football quickly forgets players like that so I can understand why we may be attractive to him.

The winger looks great from the showreel but then again we've seen these show reels before! Let's see how they go.

Dixon certainly looks like he can deliver a decent ball in. Issah's pedigree looks to be above or level and on paper looks like he'd be a great signing. Guess we'll see on Thursday if they match up to what were thinking.

Dixon puts in a mean cross from that showreel.

Robinson is not an out an out striker but can play across the front 3.  but another midfielder, i wonder why? maybe Slade aint happy with the quality in there, or concerned about McAllister, MCallister, MaCallister lol
Posted by: Davec, July 12, 2017, 9:11pm; Reply: 22
Paul Dixon looks as so he has a sweet left foot, he looks very adept at crossing from parallel with the box and from deep if needed.

Might be looking to offload Summerfield if Issah is clearly better! Summerfield tries hard but was a poor signing IMO.
Posted by: mariner91, July 12, 2017, 9:25pm; Reply: 24
I think Issah must surely be someone that Slade thinks has a high chance of being better than what we've got already, why else bother taking a centre midfielder on trial?

Or like Meza said, perhaps he's worried about McAllister's long term prospects of staying fit or wants to offload Summerfield.

Paul Dixon played for Huddersfield in the championship
Was never good enough at that level but should be able to operate well at l2 level

He would have known Nathan Clarke probably

I just can`t understand why Kamal Issah is on trial with us. Looking at the clubs he played for, teams from the top divisions in France, Denmark, Norway and Turkey - he definitely looks a good player on paper.
I don`t know much about him, but I know that the reason he left Stabæk in Norway, was that the club had economic trouble and needed to offload a couple of players.
Without being absolutely sure, it looks like he originally signed a three-year contract with the Turkish club in 2016. I guess it didn`t work out for him there despite playing 21 games for that team..

Now this will be very interesting.

By the way, I just watched the Irish team Dundalk playing against Rosenborg today. They have some very good players playing part-time earning about 20 K a year. Some of those players would clearly strengthen our team. Have a look, Slade?

Dixon looks like he did his own showreel on a budget by using his phone to video Scotland MOTD and whacking it on you tube

My friend who is a Dundee United fans says they couldn't afford to keep Dixon hence his release . Described as steady and who used to bomb on but doesn't anymore.

Paddy was and still is a good player, and he was badly managed, probably due to the fact that he was a Rob Scott pick rather than a Hurst.

He did a great job for York in their league promotion season, and is very highly thought of at Gateshead where he plays every week in centre midfield and weighs in with plenty of goals and assists. Whether the conference is his level is obviously a matter of opinion. The stats would seem to suggest so and nobody has yet given him a fair crack at L2.

There are lots of 'good' players about. Obviously, what fans want, are 'really good' or 'great' players in their team, especially if they are in the FL.

Seems like we have Boston Uniteds player of the season also on trail

Jay Rollins, 23 striker

perfect type of player to have on trail IMO, young, and promising
