After leaving Pigeon Forge, Tennessee on my coaster holiday I drove across the Smokey Mountains and stayed at Cherokee, North Carolina. The intention was to ride the Rudi Coaster at Santa's Land. Combining with my other interest of Grimsby Town football I wore my Grimsby shirt. It appears that I am only the second person from the UK to ride this coaster according to Coaster Count.

Thinking about it - it was very strange to be riding a Rudolph themed coaster in the middle of the Smokey Mountains in June with temperatures in the high nineties wearing a Grimsby Town shirt. Clearly being a 'pensioner' has affected my brain.

Well said it's a shame some of these young'uns today don't realise that when you have worked hard all your life you can enjoy it in the end.

Good lad. I've always worn my town tops when playing football down here in Devon and Somerset the past 5 years.. I'm about to start training with Wellington Town fc and they fine players for not wearing their gear.. I wonder what I'll be wearing until I get some of their gear, guess wearing my town kit may cost me a small fortune.

Always wear a Town shirt on holiday in Mallorca. It's surprising how many Town fans you pass that you normally would pass by without a second look, but always stop and have a chat, even if they don't like football.

Well said, I retired last year and haven't stopped for a minute.
Someone said I'd wonder how I had time to go to work and they were right.
40 years is enough and as you say, we've earned it.
Life's too short, a fact hammered home by a mate of ours dying yesterday morning just a few years after retirement.

I always seem to stumble across plenty of town fans on my travels and even spent the Lincoln Christmas/New year fixture 2015 in a bar in Tenerife with some fellow Mariners that had pursuaded the manager to stick the game on.

We are in France at the minute and taking our little girl to Disneyland today and I will be wearing my town shirt with pride 👍🏻

Isn't it too hot to wear football shirts in Majorca?

It can't just be me who finds wearing football shirts in more tropical climes uncomfortable and well errr... a bit weird?

Not weird at all cos it was bloody hot and people were covering up but just seemed a lack of football shirts compared to other years.
