....Looks gross in my opinion

Looks like the ugly Grimsby town cyclist tops you see around town

Not a fan at all and will just keep wearing my last years shirt with Bogle on it for now ha.

What's everyone else's thoughts... if you haven't seen it it's just been uploaded onto the telegraph site

I know the club can do no wrong in the eyes of some on here but why are we launching a kit a day for 3 days? Is this some sort of super marketing policy?

Seems total nonsense to me that the 1st kit is launched today, the away kit tomorrow and the 3rd on Friday

I like it. Reminds me a bit of the 10/11 shirt (which isn't why I like it, by the way!)

I like it! The black stripes and red collar look good and I like the badge being in white, it stands out well.

The faded stripes on the back aren't great though and an all black back would have been better.

I like it, and at the end if the day there is only so much you can do, the same badge, the same manufacturer and the same sponsor and black and white stripes! Not going to please everyone, but you never can. Look forward to getting mine and hoping the away and 3rd are nice too!

Looks alright to me but I'll stick with my old one (2015/16) for now.
Posted by: Maringer, June 14, 2017, 10:24am; Reply: 8
Collar looks a bit odd, but we've had much worse.

I stopped buying shirts some years ago as we always seemed to do terribly when I got one! Admittedly, this was back during the years of the endless decline which ultimately led to the Conference.

Looks fine to me although not sure why the outside stripes don't meet the one on the shoulder.
Posted by: Grimal, June 14, 2017, 11:50am; Reply: 10
I like it,  I'm just pleased to see that the black bit on the back doesnt look like a big square patch just sewn on like the one a couple of seasons ago. Also like the pointed design of the black stripes on the front and white stripes on the back.
Posted by: moosey_club, June 14, 2017, 11:55am; Reply: 11
Quite like it overall, i never buy one like but...overall nice. Quite like that little red stripe on the shorts. 7.5/10 from me.
Posted by: Kris2, June 14, 2017, 12:21pm; Reply: 12
I like it more than last season's offering anyway. I have the shirt from last season though so probably won't buy this one, maybe I'll see what the away and 3rd kit are like and buy one of those buy not expecting anything amazing from those.

I like it, but when you zoom in I can see why an earlier poster says it looks a bit like a cycling top, but I also think that the fading etc. gives it a modern yet traditional look 8.5/10  :)

From the front it looks really smart i think. I quite like it.

I am not totally won over by the back though.

If I am going to buy another shirt it would be the home kit. Its got to be black and white stripes.

Dont think i have ever bought an away kit so the 2nd and 3rd kits would have to be stunningly good for that to change.

I really like it.  Very clean and smart-looking.

Looking forward to seeing the second and third strips.  If we're to go for something a bit out of the box on one of them, then maybe the blue and white narrow hoops or blue/red halves from the Grimsby Pelham days.  Maybe even bring back the an incarnation of the 90s yellow/red number.

The gradient gives the shirt a sort of tie-dye style to it which is obviously to commemorate 50 years since the summer of love. Expect Town to travel to away games in a VW Camper next season.

I still have the one we got promoted in and the red away shirt,

Living in Suffolk and not getting to many games a season now days,

So they will have to last me for another 10 years or until I kick the bucket,

Whichever comes first. ;)

Agreed, looks like any other non descript blue strip worn by countless clubs

Never bought an away shirt in my life, pure marketing con, if you turned up to a away game wearing your home shirt, would people not know who you are supporting?

There are very few times we HAVE to use an away strip anyway, I'm old school, use our famous black and whites as much as possible

If we play a team away that has a blue kit and we can't use our blue strip then surely we can play in black and white?

Why stop at 3 strips? Let's have a nice gold/brown kit for the games we play in the autumn and a red strip with white fur around the collars and a big leather belt we could wear over the Christmas period, the possibilities are endless

No. I'm saying I don't like any of them because I genuinely don't like any of them. We got it right with last years Home & Away kits but they're absolutely awful this season. I'm sure I'd look less of a plank than you in one anyway.

Am I not allowed an opinion anymore without someone saying it's just because I'd look like a Numpty in one? It's perfectly feasable that somebody might just not like them.

I know others will have a different opinion and that's fine, not everybody agrees on everything but I don't think it's right to use an insult against everyone who doesn't share your godly opinion.

It's a cost cutting exercise, to be used during the midweek winter games, don't have to use the floodlights when wearing that kit.

Should make all GTFC personnel and board, wear the top on match days.

If any player gets confused with our away blue kit and SWFC home shirt they should question their own footballing abilities.

I once played a Sunday league match on Bradley pitches when both teams turned up in all  red kits,  after toying with the idea of one playing in "skins" it was decided  that one team wore their shirts inside out and pull up their sleeves! Job done, not a pink strip in sight

I see your point on inter though!!

How seriously do some people take football kit designs. Like there's an exact science to making a kit that everyone will love.

Think we need to accept that some will like it, other won't, and this time next year it'll all change again anyway.

The third kit will likely be used against Coventry & Colchester. Dependent on how much white their new kits have then maybe against Carlisle & Chesterfield as well.

I think the striped style on the third kit would have looked good on last years red away kit.

I've just realised something after several years of buying my son the kit every season. The Children's replica kit costs more than the Adult Kit.

Adult Shirt £33.32
*£33.32 + £6.67 VAT @ 20% = £39.99

Children's Shirt £34.99
*VAT on Children's clothing is 0%.

So the Children's shirts are actually £1.67 more expensive than the Adult shirts.

I imagine the club have been incorrectly charging VAT on children's replica kit for years rather than just ripping parents off?

The third strip is an absolute abomination.
The marketing fraternity obviously know better but let's face it if you purchase that 😱😱😱

Yep...the marketing fraternity do know better. Massive shout-out to all concerned with the design and marketing of all the new shirts.

A few people with egg on there faces after the club sold out off the awesome 3rd kit, I suppose the next moan will be that they never made enough, The club doing something that gets people excited must really grind on some of our posters ;D

How many did they actually have in stock?

But to be honest don't really care what a third strip looks like, it could be a teeny weeny yellow polkadot bikini with "Imps" written all over it for all I care, as long as they get the home kit right which I think they have

Steady Sussex, Bikini may be ok, but you've gone too far with "Imps" written all over it  ;)

Design 'different' but obviously proved to be very popular, marketing very smart.. A different kit each day builds anticipation and makes up for the lack of signing news.

I like it how the club prioritises Lincs based fans. It wasn't until I moved out of the area that I realised that.

The 2nd and 3rd kits are bloody awful.... you could be sick on both and not be able to spot where....  why do we not have simple designs of a plain colour.... ffs

If you're throwing up blue liquid I'd be seriously worried!!

What if we played against a team with blue and white stripes?

Well then we'd wear the 3rd kit obviously!!

Buuut you saying you'd look 'better' in it is okay? There's a flawed argument there somewhere!

It's a cost cutting exercise, to be used during the midweek winter games, don't have to use the floodlights when wearing that kit.

Should make all GTFC personnel and board, wear the top on match days.

That doesn't really make any sense - if it were fluorescent pink then yes..... but it isn't!!!!

Genuine question, are there any new casual shirts ( as opposed to replica kits) in the club shop??

There are plenty.

Couldn't agree more - some posters on here will be raging that they can't moan about something!

I like all 3, if i could afford it and if pink suited me I'd buy the full home kit and the pink kit... But being an average Joe in an average job I can't. So I'll get the home strip when I come up to Grimsby in August

I've got no egg on my face. I personally don't like it but others do and thats fair enough.

Does anybody know when the training/leasureware will be on sale online. Can only see last years stuff. Replica kits for the new season are up though.

Exactly this,its only opinion.
Good marketing and promotion to shift a "different" design.
Lets face it,certain fans will purchase a shirt regardless of colour design etc ::)

Went in to get my home shirt today -  very smart. Reminds me a bit of the 99/00 home shirt (Dixons sponsor with black background/red writing). Think it's the v neck collar and similar patterened sleeves. Still got reservations about the all black back but I suppose if I'm wearing it I can't see it!

On my way there I saw a bloke wearing the away shirt and have to say I changed my mind about it instantly. I don't think the pictures really did it justice and seeing it up close it is a decent shirt. I ended up buying one so hopefully that extra £30 can tempt a decent player here next season (I doubt the margins are that fine though!).

I am still unsure about the pink/purple kit though. When I heard the rumour that we were having one I had visions of the classy pink kits that Palermo have had over the years or even some of the better Juventus away kits. Again I think the pictures haven't really done the shirt justice because the pink bits of the shirt aren't that bad however the stripes ruin it for me. I'll still end up getting it though - I've got every shirt pretty much going back about ten years and over 50 in total.

Just seen someone in  the Pink one, reminded me of the time when my Nan put her red flannel drawers in the wash with my Grandads vest.

Does anybody know when the arrivals for the new stock of the 3rd kit are likely to come?

Went in two weeks ago today and they said it would take a month before new stock comes in as it comes from Italy.
