Must surely be losing Labour thousands, literally thousands of votes.
I don't think I can genuinely say I have ever seen a senior politician seem more inept.
She might not be, but she certainly comes across that way.  So poorly prepared for interviews it's unbelievable.  Don't get me wrong, Tories are not coming out of this at all well, but by Christ the thought of her as Home Secretary scares the hell out of me.

It seems pretty certain she won't be in the role should Labour actually win, but they can't replace her in the shadow cabinet at this stage. They should have done what May has with Box Office Phil Hammond and put him out to pasture somewhere, a long way away from any media appearances.

Didn't see any of her interview last night but it seems she's completely lost her nerve and is now getting flustered when pressed. Believe it or not, I've read that she prepares for interviews but that's no good if you panic after the first question.

If May can dodge interviews willy-nilly, it seems daft that they just didn't shut Abbott away last week.

Massive own goal for Labour and she is cringeworthy at best, incompetent at worst. As a Labour supporter, i cannot understand how they haven't learnt from the past that you have to present an acceptable face to the public and she aint it. Corbyn is already struggling with the public perception of him and the Labour party, so the inclusion of Abbott just adds more fuel to the fire.

Unfortunately, politics is more about personalities than principles and they are just serving up the press and public with reasons not to vote for them.

Saying something along the lines of his prospective cabinet not being finalised yet could swing a few votes his way but he isn't going to do it. Why are they still putting her into the public eye after the first failed interview and why are the media showing these intercourse ups rather than the Corbyn speeches being shared on social media?

Well, that didn't take long:

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2017/jun/06/yvette-cooper-personal-attack-theresa-may-armed-police-cuts

Former Shadow Home Secretary, Yvette Cooper wades into the attack against May at the same time that Abbott started to feel really unwell.

A Blairite careerist, but it can't hurt her either way if she's wants to start jockeying for position after the election, regardless of the result.

Described as a personal attack, but wouldn't surprise me if she'd been asked to put her oar in - let's just say, I'd be surprised if it was just a coincidence.

The treatment she has received has been appalling, we should encourage black women into politics. Break the Eton supply chain, however this shows Corbyn's weakness, he doesn't have a strong team. The best labour politicians have never backed him.

Appallingly treated, singled out and bullied, everything that is wrong with the press, not up to the role she was asked to do but plenty of others just as incompetent and a Tory leader who hasn't answers a single question

Hate to say it, but you've got to be made of sterner stuff in front line politics these days especially when journalists are always looking for a 'gotcha' moment by firing numbers at you all interview. Wouldn't have been the case ten years ago, but there you are, you have to move with the times.

She's obviously been bullied but I'm afraid that's the way of things these days.

She's just been the token ,over promoted Black thats all of a sudden found herself in a position of prominence by virtue of nobody else wanting to be in Corby's cabinet.
Blair gave her a chance years ago and soon pushed her back out again once he realised what a disaster she was.
Its not the fact that she gets things wrong or forgets her stuff , its the fact that she lies and bullshits her way out of it.
If some of these politicians could just hold their hands up and say Ive forgot ' or ' i don't know '  Im pretty sure most of the public would warm to them

Hilarious! They all do that but somehow the Tories get away with it and people believe their bullsh1t.

I'm away to the Lake District Friday morning and then on to Scotland for a couple of weeks. I'm tempted to stay there if the Tories get in with a big majority.

Yeah it'll be a landslide for the Torys despite May and her team trying their hardest to muck it up

As a Labour member I find her a total liability and wish she had never been given such a prominent role.

Having said that I do enjoy the social media ramblings of paranoid white men with a persecution complex who feel so threatened by her.

Yeah, well that's because they are flipping incompetent. If they can make such a balls up of an easy job, it's going to be fun (not really) seeing how badly they deal member it up with the EU.

Remember, the slogan, "No deal is better than a bad deal" is UTTERLY MEANINGLESS. There is either a deal or there is no deal. The worst possible option is no deal and to think otherwise when the other side hold absolutely all the cards is idiocy.

Wouldn't it be good if all people in politics always had to tell the truth all the time,

It could go like this,

Yes I forgot I said that but I have changed my mind again,

I really do not like that man who asks me stupid questions from the BBC you however young lady are very pleasant on the eye, you can ask me anything,

If I do not get a job in the cabinet at the next reshuffle I am going to defect to UKIP.

Or something like that.

Yes people like Grimps with their white privileges should never ever be criticising a privileged hypercritical unintelligent black MP 😂

The only thing Diane Abbot threatens is her underwear, unless of course Labour gain power then it would be the small matter of national security.

The way she was treated was a disgrace and has done neither the press or the Tories any favours, bullying is ugly wherever it rears its head,
