With Shaun leaving this was an essential signing.

Still think we need two centre halves to complete the ideal number of four.

I also expect that DC won't play the full 46 games. There were times last season when he was magnificent and others when he looked knackered. I would expect RS to manage which games he plays and which he won't to get the best results for the team. Age and football are a funny marriage. Even if supremely fit, there are some games at a certain age when the body just doesn't work as well. Been through it myself, you can feel fantastic all day, fresh as a daisy before kick-off, the game starts and it just isn't there, the game after, flying again. Saw a bit of that in DC last season, hope he's handled better this..

So having said that, I hope we'll have two more centre halves to come in, because I'm not a big fan of the other centre half on our books at present.

Got to say Fatcobra for all the stick he gets,got it right about Henderson and Collins.

I think all of us are happy with this. just need a really good partner for him. I think RS must have someone lined up if he's let Shaun go :)

Too late- he said it had always been his ambition to play for Grimsby Town but we dithered about too long He would have given his services free because he has always wanted to play for a club with ambition and been able to bring his vast International experience to assist in our progress.  He has now joined Lincoln City.  Further players who are expected to sign for us will follow shortly.

Sorry to all my followers, I definitely said he hadn't signed- obviously The Fishy must have been infected by that virus that shut down a lot of the hospital computers. Would I ever let you down with something that wasn't true ?
