He'll do well there if he gets a couple of young runners round him - will this be the loan out club for 2017/8?

Alfreton benefitting from the extensive player contacts of Lee Mullen there.

All the best Dizzley Rascal.

Alfreton website says "predominantly a midfielder but can shift to the wing if required" Never had Dis down as a winger!

All the best Craig, will keep an eye out on results now!

Do they want Luke Summerfield too???

All the Best Dis, you'll do well there and 2 yr deal adds a bit of stability too.

Great for him to get a 2 year deal and he'll have the added bonus of being able to play without sweating.

If Dizza stays fit and plays, he'll score a dozen goals next season. Great signing for them.

Excellent signing for them and 2 years suggests it's a good move for Dis, can't help thinking he is better than that level but if he's dropping to semi pro then I am sure it will allow him to develop his future career goals.

Good luck to the Ginger Pirlo I say!

I echo everyone's else's sentiments. Good luck Diz...you will always be a legend at Blundell Park.

The offer of a 2 yr deal provides him with some security. An excellent signing for Macca and Alfreton. I think most of on here would have been happy to have kept Diz at GTFC for another year. He can still do a job at league 2 level so his class will shine like a beacon in the Conference North.

Disley
Monkhouse
Hearn
With Macca as manager.. Sounds like we have two reserve teams if it carries on. Joking aside wish him all the very best, top bloke. I might put them in my season bet to win the title alongside Shaun Pearson with Wrexham

Based on that thinking we have been York City reserves for the past few seasons.

Great move for Dis two more years playing the game he loves any footy player will tell you play as long as you can.

Good luck Dis hope you crack a few more goals in.

Surprised to see him drop to this level if I'm honest. Expected him to sign for a promotion challenging conference team, or possibly even another L2 club.
Maybe he fancied a new kind of challenge. Good luck to him. Top, top pro.

Heard a rumour that Halifax were in for Diz.

Who knows what sort of contract they would've offered. Maybe only a year, which is why the two-year deal at Alfreton was more appealing.

Plus he's closer to his Retford/Mansfield/Nottingham home.

Good luck Diz, sounds like interesting times for Alfreton!

I, like many will be looking out for Alfreton results. Not just for the Dis factor, but Macca as well...

I've posted this before but I find it difficult to find a tougher league than conference north. York southport, fcmu, Salford, alfreton, Harrogate, Boston, Stockport, Nuneaton, kiddy, Telford it's the nightmare division!   Ps Chelmsford going to make a serious go of it this year. Just signed scott Davies on decent money.bit like dizz ,shpuld be playing at least 1 or 2 levels above step 5

That list of teams does make it sound like a nightmare, yes!

Good acquisition by Alfreton. Diz should look a class above that division.

Maybe Jon-Paul Pittman will be joining him(Confused)

JPP been at Harrogate and done really well when fit. Again, IMO, too good for conference north.
