Seen on a few threads that Jon Guthrie, the Crewe versatile left back is rumoured to be on his way to Doncaster. Just like danny Andrew, he very much fits in to the 'out of contract, versatile league two left back' who Darren ferguson has said will be signing for them this week. So I wonder if we have seen the last of danny or is there some hope yet? You never know, danny could be the one going to donny and we end up with the Crewe lad? We shall see :)

Collins already has signed allegedly but if Doncaster and Peterborough are battling for Andrew's signature and all the Donny media saying he's already signed but it can't be announced are saying it's Andrew I have no doubt that he's gone you pair of WUMs.

Confirmed on our site as well with a goodbye message from Danny Andrew, saying he needs to play as high as possible.

Thanks for last season, Danny - move on !!

We need to consider next year NOT voting for our best player in the player of the year awards...

Inevitable i think. Definitely good enough for League 1, so you can't blame him.

Thanks and good luck Danny.

The local rag and bone scrap dealing caravan living community in and around Donny will have a field day weighing in all his POTY trophies.

Like the irony of the first sentence considering his picture. "Danny Andrew is looking forward...."

' One swallow doesn't make a summer' we got lucky given his injury record to get 50 odd games out of him.  Doubt it will happen again.

Inevitable i suppose, can't blame a player to want to play at a higher level, just wish he had stayed and tried to do it with us.
I don't suppose money had anything to do with it either says the cynic in me.

This is why two year deals need to be given to the right players , we signed Danny Andrew on a one year deal but Berrett gets a two year contract.

Anyway onwards we go.

If he'd been given a 2 year deal with his previous injury problems, I'm sure people would have been moaning.

If he'd had Sean McAllister's season you'd have been delighted that he'd only been given a year.

Not surprised he's gone but disappointed, not for him but for us, because he deserves the step back up.

But he wasn't Sean McAllister was he ?

His previous 2 seasons were very much Mcallister esque seasons though so a 2 year contract for Danny Andrew represented a risk.

THIS! Who here would offer a 2 year contract to a player who prior to joining GTFC had a knee ligament problem in 2014 then a thigh injury in 2015, the effect of which meant he played once in 8 months??

Would you have offered a 2 year deal to someone who had been pretty iffy in terms of appearances and injuries the previous term? This was the case when we brought in Danny Andrew.

Good luck to him now its time for "SUMO".

goodbye Danny, good luck, we move on . UTM.

Perhaps options with conditions written in is a different way forward - we risk it in year 1 - you pay us back if it works out in year 2 ???
Posted by: ginnywings, June 1, 2017, 5:54pm; Reply: 30
Who's to say he would have signed for 2 years? He obviously wanted a season to get over his injury problems and knew he was good enough for the level above if he achieved an injury free season. If we had somehow managed to get promoted, he would probably have stayed here.
