We were all convinced that it was Sam Kelly or Danny Collins re-signing on Monday, nobody at any stage mentioned Mitch Rose

Perhaps 3 "busy" suggests 3 signings, maybe reading too much into that.

Hope it is Gavin Massey! He's a very good player and stood a stand out in a poor Leyton Orient side.

Announced today that he's rejected a contract extension too...

What is Massey's primary position? Is he a striker or winger?
Posted by: HertsGTFC, May 26, 2017, 3:38pm; Reply: 27
Was Massey the one who got frozen out because he was about to get a bonus for appearances and the owner did not want to pay it.

An 18 year old fullback who made 20 appearances, mostly in the second half of the season, including the 3-0 loss to us. Are they bothered about losing him? I don't know what their situation is like but he could be like a ryan bennet talent and for us to be nicking someone elses young talent i'd be amazed. But he might not be that level of talent and then i'd say if we're trying to reduce numbers why are we signing youth instead of producing it.

He's a right back who's only just turned 18 but can fill in at left back. Picked up the div 2 apprentice of the year award a few weeks ago.doesnt seem v likely but an interesting one, nonetheless

RS can only be signing players who will go straight into the first team surely. We cant afford to be signing 18 year olds who will fade during the eeason.

The 2 signings so far have clearly improved the athleticism within the squad, so it's clear slade has effectively highlighted our weaknesses.

He's not quick. He's also never been a regular starter in L2 for any side except Hartlepool who just got relegated. There are much, much better options out there than Amond and I don't understand why people on this board are so obsessed with bringing back former players.
Posted by: 1739 (Guest), May 27, 2017, 12:14pm; Reply: 65
We will get a striker with some physical attributes. Amond despite his vision and goal scoring abilities does not offer you strength or pace upfront which Slade will want.

Amond is a good player and i liked him but he's never been prolific in the league and even in his golden season with us, he didn't score many, if any, against the better sides in the league. He'll do well with 'Pool but i think we can do better.

Ahkeem Rose will be 19 (under contract for another year) when the season starts, so too old for Academy football.  I would expect him to play more reserve games and push for a place on the bench if he's that good.

Heard at start of the week Davies will sign for another year with a coaching role thrown in as part of the deal, just wondering when the club will announce it.

Marc McNulty was realeased by Sheffield United having been on loan to couple of clubs last season. Don't know much about him but has a decent scoring record. Probably too good/expensive for us. Is it too ambitious to look upwards for talent?
